Thevenin's Theorem problem with dependent source
In this video we are going to discuss how to deal THEVENIN'S THEOREM if both dependent and independent sources are present.
When this type of circuit is given for finding THEVENIN'S voltage (Vth)or open circuit( Voc) we apply general procedure like when only independent sources are present but we can't find THEVENIN'S Resistance (Rth) directly to find this we have technic
1- short circuit the load terminal all remain unchanged. Then find short circuit current
After finding this Rth =Vth/Isc
2- In this method we connect a dummy voltage or current source across load terminal and deactivate the independent sources
Then Rth=
If dummy source is voltage source then find current and if it current source find voltage across it
Then apply ohms law for finding THEVENIN'S Resistance

While calculating thevenin's resistance with 2nd method, You reversed the direction of Ix current. why?

Looks like you made and error with stating that Voc = 0 in the equation for the current thru the 6 ohm resistor

Ix is leaving current so it would be +ve not -ve and Voc is already present how they can be in series

Hi, I have a question if we hadn’t the 6 ohm resistor while using the sc method, how can we calculate the sc current in this case?

Why ur not considered other node as
Please respond to my answer
And give valuable explanation

Why did you reverse the direction of 1.5*Ix current source. It is leaving current so by your convention it should be +ve. Please check this part sir and rest your explanation is nice and finally, Thevenin's equivalent voltage should be 2.462 V instead of 10.667V.
