I will demonstrate how to reset your operating system without losing your product key code. How to log on with a Microsoft account and protect your operating system key code in case the need arises to reinstall Windows. The steps show work for both Windows 10 and 11.

I foolishly partitioned my first drive to separate the OS from my other files, however I left far to little space for the main partition as many programs prefer to be on the same one as the OS. I have needed to completely reinstall the OS to fix this partition issue, but had lost my key. You saved me, thanks again!

I was very frustrated as a new Win11 user on a MiniPC with a MAK license. None of my typical tricks worked...but this video was awesome and got me right where I needed to go! Thanks!

Thanks for sharing these tips on how to find Windows 10/11 product key!
Based on my experience, I have reinstalled Windows 10 without the need to enter the product key again as long as I'm using the same edition of Windows 10 on the machine. Once it's online, it will reactivate itself without any issue. It's not tied with any Microsoft account, all of them are local accounts.

So if I used hotmail as a log in then I pretty much destroy the system if I ever want to resell it? My windows is telling me I don't have the license key yet it's still running, could it be because I used a different email?

Thank you - just needed to be prepared before changing CSM setting (which may require a reinstall?!) so a Windows 10 to 11 upgrade could be performed. This was a Windows 7 system originally, upgraded to 10, and ShowKeyPlus had all the information. Thanks!

Key is visible at 12:35, you might want to blur this.

Great video, I actually found the Regedit way much easier, didn't have to install anything.

What if the ShowKeyPlus and the registry show a different key. My system says it can not activate Windows, because the key has been used on another system. I don't know which other system, and which Key is the right one.
What has happened here?

Hi !
for taking the time to post this well presented and informative video. the REGISTRY location (for the method) you demonstrated does not show the correct key. Although the key shown is in the correct format it is *not* the MAK volume license key entered into Windows. I confirmed this by going through the process to change my license (re-using the same MAK key that I used when I installed Windows). This ensured I know exactly what the key was that I used. When I checked the that REGISTRY location, the key shown there is not the same as what I just used a minute ago... So two QUESTIONS. (1) Although different, will using the key found in the registry be accepted during licensing process when doing a fresh re-install of Windows (same machine but brand new bigger hard drive). (2) OR is their a "formula" that can be used where you put in the numbers found in the REGISTRY which then gives you the actual MAK license I typed in originally ?

Hi there, I have tried for a while to get my product key back, and I have gotten the exact same key multiple times on different methods however it continuously says that it doesn't work whenever I enter it into the "Change Product Key" tab, any advice?

WAIT !!!
First method (App ShowKeyPlus) give me a key but last method(Registry) give me another key.
How can I know which one is the right one?
I still don't know if my license is a OEM, Retail or other type
