He said "here's how you can 'GET' Microsoft Office entirely for free". Using the web version is NOT getting anything. The FREE Web applications remain on Microsoft's servers. He must have meant to say "Here is how you can 'USE' MS Office for free" would make more sense.

here's a bit to note about this free office:
-**MS will probably record all the data you type into the online free office.**
-It only works if you have wi-fi or internet connection
-Some apps that are on the purchasable Microsoft 365 won't be usable in this free office
-You need a Microsoft account to use it
-It seems like an app, but opening or making a document, powerpoint, spreadsheet etc will open a page on your browser
-The apps miss out on a lot of features

Call me an old millennial, but I miss the times when we called them 'programs' instead of apps. Since the use of 'apps' started at the same time that some uncomfortable practices started (browser running, always connected, ever changing interface, crap in general and spying), I really miss the complete and crystallized experience of programs...

Everyone: We want a standard Office Suite that is free and is capable enough to submit assignments and work.
MS: Best I can do is a web app that forces you to log in so we can spy on everything you type.

Enrol in a college course that includes office in your student account.

You are missing out the bit where you have to sign up for it first.

That is Web version you should say that as well, i know most would know but not all. It has some less functions even mobile version of office has some functions that web don't so if one has a tablet can try that. Otherwise just download an alternative to office or get the key.
