In today's video, Coach Justin from Ultimate Baseball Training reveals 3 things that are actually making your bat speed slower! On this channel we spend a lot of time talking about hitting drills and hitting tips to help improve your bat speed, but today we're flipping the script and taking a different approach.

The first thing that is actually making your bat speed slower is the lack of separation. Think of the baseball swing like a rubber band. The more stretch you're able to get, the more energy is built up.

The next thing that is making your bat speed slower is a poor mentality at the plate. You might be "trying" to hit instead of expecting to hit. Make sure you're using a yes, yes, no hitting approach so you're ready to go every time you step in the batter's box.

The last thing that may be slowing down your bat speed is casting or not staying connected. Remember, we're stronger when everything is closer to our body. Keep things tight and you'll hit for more power and develop more bat speed!

I think with the first one there is a problem. You moved the bat behind your head. While I agree that you shouldn’t artificially move the hands back, you shouldn’t move the barrel behind your head. I think it should stay rather straight
