While the job listing of today seem to be asking for AI experience, I would be very cautious with getting developers to invest their learning time into applied AI. AI is in a bubble and its going to pop soon. Investors are quickly realizing how inconsistent the results of AI are for the problems they want to solve that require accuracy. If you are a senior developer and feel you are capping out in terms of growth, sure go for it, but majority of developers should be focusing on obtaining a deeper knowledge of the technologies they currently use.

I was originally really excited about how AI would make my life as a programmer easier. I was using it at work and initially I was pretty amazed by it. 6 months into using it, I started realising that it was actually having a really negative impact on not only my code quality, but my ability to learn new things. Now I don't use it at all.
