Keep in mind that bears are not true hibrenators. True hibrenation is a process where animal slows down its metabolism and enters into coma like stage where animal is unable to wake up till their instinct tells them they need food and its warm enough to wake, with ground hog males even waking up early si they start mating season and territory making. Bears do slow down metabolism but have an trait that enablse them to wake any time if necessary, beacuse females give birth to cubs mostly Durning winter when they slow down, its also useful so they can have more time to adapted to running before big males start to emerge, so bears dont truly hibrenate, they just sleep for very long and can indeed wake up
