The reason why face ID is slower than Touch ID is because face ID has a multi step process it has to put the invisible 30, 000 dots on your face and then make sure it's correct and then it will unlock and then you have to swipe up so that's why it takes longer than Touch ID

Touch ID is much faster because you can touch the sensor while lifting your phone up from your pocket which unlocks and opens it in one step, that way it’s unlocked and open by the time you’ve got it in front of you, Face ID is tedious and slow because you have to wait until your phone is in front of you for a second to unlock then swipe up to open.

People will notice the difference in day to day life when they have to wear a mask like on a crowded train or in a hospital or doctor’s waiting room. Finger print scanner for the win. It’s just more versatile, can be used in all situations where Face ID cannot.

There are two huge flaws with this.
1. We live in a masked society so good luck trying to unlock your phone with your mask on
2. When you look at your phone it unlocks but why doesn't it take you to the home screen? Why do we have to swipe up it's so annoying!

With touch id you dont even need to swipe up! Its just a push of a button and your good to go! Just make sure that touch area is clean. Face ID has many issues of not registering at times and results you to type passcode manually.

Touch ID is faster but Face ID is slower cuz it needs to make sure it’s not a picture or a vid also Face ID has an advantage cuz it works under water and Touch ID doesn’t

It depends on what generation Touch ID you have. If you have a later generation Touch ID, FaceID is probably faster. If it’s a newer generation Touch ID then FaceID is probably slightly slower but more secure (excluding identical twins and things like that).

The Touch is waaaay faster. Why can't people see this? The touch get to the homescreen. The Face ID only unlocks - THEN you have to swipe up. Its just twice as complicated to do. Two steps vs 1 step.

There both really good! I like the touch id better than the face id. My phone has both of those lol.

On the iPhone 11 Face ID is a little faster but doesn’t work well on a table. Touch ID doesn’t work with moist fingers as well.

I heard face I'd is more secure than Touch ID
Because with touch id a nosy person can hold the owner's finger to the Touch ID sensor
And it will unlock the iPhone so that the nosy person can look at everything you have on your iPhone.
Or maybe even erase the device itself.
With face ID a nosy person doesn't stand a chance of unlocking the device

cOULD NOT GET MY Face ID to work, I went through the steps of following the directions and it shows a lock on the home screen... Are the sensors that touchy? I fly a Drone for a living and the IphoneXR has not been tested to run the GO PRO4 app to fly a Dji unnamed aircraft. Since Dji has only ran beta tests on the Iphone X and down and not the IpHONE XR, so ENDED UP with the Iphone X and wow, what a superb phone...
