iPhone X Face ID fooled with mask, claims hackers

A Vietnamese security firm published a video claiming that it found a way to trick the iPhone X's Face ID security with a mask.

So they need:
1. 3D scanner
2. Scan the person they wanna hack, takes couple minutes
3. 3D printer
4. The person’s phone

I could crack a persons code by looking at them typing it in. If someone makes a PERFECT MASK to crack into a persons code, then you probably have a lot more to worry about...

I saw the original video. There was no Unlock animation and no mention of Disabling the Attention Aware.

And this is even dumber than the people claiming thieves were gonna carry around pictures of people to break into their phones. Or the ones saying people were gonna cut off people's fingers to do so. If thieves were really that determined, they'd just wail on you until you unlocked your phone for them. The rest is BS.

People are just wasting there time with trying to fool face ID. Just let it be. This happened when Touch ID came out and all over the internet people came up with ways to try and get into peoples phones. Stop putting fear into technology. Technology is good. It helps us grown as humans.

to those saying cracking a faceID iphone X is expensive....
1. those that want access to a person's phone data can open the target's facebook or instagram where the target has hundreds of samples of photos. feed it to a program (everything is google-able), and it generates a 3d face model of the target. (not need for scanners)
2. owning a 3d printer is expensive. but sending the 3d printable file of your target to a 3d printer service and having it printed isn't
3. "keep your friends close, and your enemies closer". a common data thief would not really need the target's private data, but the target may have personal enemies that can access thier social media accounts, and want them exposed (referring back to number 1).
4. another angle of this security loophole is not to get access to your private data, but if your life or job depends on your cellphone in some way, someone could break into your phone and just plainly change security measures so the target cannot access thieir phone, which for some people could be earth shattering...
ofc no I'm not a hacker, but sometimes, knowing the ways that could ruin your life would make the difference.

That just proves how secure, complex and developed Apple‘s face id is. I guess that it’s true they are 2-3 years ahead of the competition when it comes to security. The hassle these guys in the video had to go through is ridiculous and that‘s what makes Face ID even more secure than Touch ID

They turned off “require attention for face id” so that face id didn’t check the fake eyes on the mask and passed it. What a lie!

Am I missing something? There was NO unlock animation (lock icon did not change), suggesting that the device was not locked, rather only on the lock/notification screen. OR does it work so fast sometimes that the unlock animation doesn't have time to run? Something smells fishy. Otherwise they would have shown the phone unable to unlock first and then place it front of the mask showing it unlock.

I think there should be a feature to add subtle expression (Like smile, rising eyebrows or can be any face expression that the owner would like to keep ) wile registering for face id, which will make it more secure
