I was in a car accident when I was a teen. A piece of glass went through my head. I was stitched up and sent home same day. I saw tons of strangers inside my house and thought they were my mom’s friends there to help out while she took care of me. They seemed nice and they seemed to know us even though I didn’t know them. I thought it was strange that they never spoke but I thought they were trying to be quiet to let me heal. Several came and gently touched my head. There was also a man outside who never came in but the way he stared at me creeped me out and I was terrified of him. Completely paranoid, I would ask my mom to make sure the doors and windows were locked. After several weeks everyone left. I asked my mom to let me know who they were so I could write them a thank you letter for watching over me. Of course, I was shocked when I was told there was never anyone but me and her in the house and no one outside. I was hallucinating for weeks. To this day the experience felt real. Head injuries are serious!

Head injury. Hit hard enough to perforate an ear drum. That brought on psychosis. He should have never been left alone.

logically speaking, if you're being followed, an airport would be one of the safer places to be. Police and in many Eastern European countries, military is commonly at airports, plus once you're past security, you're extremely safe. Why would he be scared hes being followed, and then run out of the airport into a field. This right here to me, leads me to believe there was something mental he was experiencing.

I'm from Germany and there is a lot more to this story from what I know.
For example: the doctor at the airport changed his story three times and Lars' mom flew to Bulgaria right after he went missing and was able to see footage of the security cameras which was deleted when the police arrived and was never part of the investigation.
She saw Lars running out of the airport, seeing a police car and hiding from it before he jumped the fence.
The whole story seems fishy since there were many cases of human trafficking in Bulgaria back then.

I feel like he was drugged without his knowing or forcibly. Honestly, his whole behavior (and the dilated eyes) seem like a bad acid trip. I understand he wasn’t one to take drugs, but he may not have known.

Also, you tell a story like nobody’s business. Bravo.

Just an idea. That maybe while Lars and his friends were at club watching a game. That maybe someone put something in his drink.
That would effect a person to paraniod behavior. Sometimes the effects of narcotics can last a few days. It might have caused him severe brain trauma with his injury to his ear. Who is to say. He didn't have a concussion also. If he is still living. He might not even know who he is.

I was totally having flashbacks of the Elisa Lam case with Lars's case here. The hotel hallway CCTV footage of them pacing and acting anxious then popping in and out of the elevator. Crazy stories from both of those cases

This young man haunts me. I feel like the answer is right in front of us but, we just can't see it. My heart breaks for his mother.

If he had his pupils dilated most likely he had concussion and that might have caused him to hallucinate or triggered paranoia. I feel for his mother, I hope the man is well.

As a mental health worker, it looks like Lars was experiencing some sort of head trauma or drug induced psychosis (This is just a guess based on the behaviors shown) or both. He could have been roofied at some point, taken something, or really was attacked like he said and through that, or a combination of the two, he began experiencing these psychosis. I wish the hospital forced him to stay to get tested properly to see what was really up with him. I can't imagine the immense guilt and horror his friends and mother probably carried with them after this.
