upon first rewatching this movie as an adult, I very quickly came to the conclusion that, to me, elle seemed neurodivergent, even if that wasn't the writers' and director's intention, though I couldn't fully explain why I felt that way. it's nice to have everything laid out so nicely; you explained everything very clearly and while I agree that there's not really enough to say whether she is or isn't, it's just nice to feel like my personal headcanon is more validated haha. thanks for making this video!

She definutely reminds me of my aunt, an ADHDer. Elle seems neurodivergent to me too, but as an autistic person, she seems way more aligned with ADHD traits, to me.

Wow okay I knew I related to Elle and she was kind of a comfort character for me but wow I did not realize how similar we actually are. I am autistic but just thought Elle was generally behaving in a "normal" way. Turns out all the social cues she seems to have missed I missed too! It really never occurred to me that (for example) someone would tone down their emotions in a public place and not just react as normal.... I feel like I have this new found understanding of the movie entirely! Im also very happy that Elle is such a loved character and simlar too me! I think were Elle and I differ is caused by her living mostly in a comfortable envoirment to her, which is not my experience at all.

Anyone who thinks she is on the spectrum
Is super ignorant about women in general. Not saying you are, you said at the beginning you have heard this mentioned so I'm speaking of those people. Everyone on the planet shows some symptoms, that's why it's a spectrum. She IS NOT neurodivergent, just creative.
