So I’m an old(er) radio producer. Started in the ‘70’s on tape and went from the first studio DAW’s to today, adopting Studio One b/c I want to use the hardware of the ioStation24c. Your edit is fine, but a micro-breath too soon.

The key to natural dialogue editing is to work with the breath. It creates a custom pace that an editor gets a read on. From there, placing edits, and even removing breath sounds in a clean up pass is all related to letting the breath spacing remain in place and consistent. That edit placed the new sentence a milli-second before the natural breathing pace.
