Should You Buy the Milwaukee M12 Fuel Stubby Impact Wrench?

The Gen 2 Milwaukee M12 Fuel Stubby Impact Wrench recently hit the markets and if it's anything like its predecessor, it's poised to be one of the best compact impact wrenches on the market. I wanted to test out the M12 Fuel Stubby on some real world applications, so we jacked up the truck in the driveway and saw what this thing had to offer.

Pair this m12 in the 3/8 drive with the milwaukee impact combo that includes sae and metric both deep and shallow. Ive tested both the 3/8” and 1/2” versions with the 3/8” being my choice. As a ase certified mechanic this is my go to. Best performance you need the 5.0 high output batteries after about 3 months of use.

If the 4th mode is like the first gen you can leave it in 4th mode with all the nut busting power in reverse in forward it will be the limited torque.

Got my 2563-22 kit yesterday. After trying it out on a few lug nuts, I packed it away with my Koken wheel nut sockets set and retired my M18 2962-20 1/2-inch mid-torque. I'm convinced; the GEN2 stubby is a beast.

As a Milwaukee fan boy, I will acquire this tool as soon as they pair it with the high output 5.0 battery which it needs in order for it to really shine.

Hi,

Thank you for the fantastic test videos you’ve created—they’ve been incredibly helpful!

I was wondering if you might consider doing a test on the best circular saws with dust collection. A comparison of dust collection capabilities across various brands would be incredibly useful for many viewers.

Thank you for considering this idea, and keep up the great work!

I’m repairing timber harvesting gear, and that’ s the tool l get used most, so it’s not for lawnmowers or tight spots only, thanks to the light weight an small size it’s really allrounder.

I have the M18 fuel version and it’s an animal! I don’t even pull out the 1/2 in because the 3/8 does just about everything.

As you were saying, it Is like doing something small, I tried it on my car, and is a no-no. I purchased something stronger the Milwaukee M18 fuel one-key2864-20, that did the trick for me.

People asking about sockets, purchased the TEKTON 1/2 Inch Drive Impact Lug Nut Socket Set (9-Piece) | SID92415 to keep with my full size impact. I keep it in the car. I have had tire shops over tighten the lugs and I won't ever be without a ful size impact again.

As for other impact sockets i purchased the DEWALT Impact Socket Set with Ratchet, Metric/SAE, 1/2" Drive, 23-Piece Set with Case (DWMT74739).

The second is really a full set outside of lug nuts. I have used a couple of those sockets so far, don't need often and price was right.

The Tekton lug nut sockets were more than the entire set of Dewalt but I am very happy with those. Even the case is very good.

Bought in 2021 and 2022 so can't say that no changes have happened since then with quality.

4.9 inches is actually pretty average 😢

Most of the impact wrenches on the market nowadays will laugh at lug nuts, unless they're on a large truck/18-wheeler

why did he say 2563 but the link in description is 2562? I'm confused.

Is video made by some mirror effect or why is switch for reverse and forward in opposite direction?

It runs on a lithium battery I’m assuming? My experience with lithium batteries is you’ll have full power at 80-100% but once the battery starts losing voltage, you no longer have that power. Or is this device found a way around that?

Ive been wanting to get one for a while but they are too expensive. Sell me your test piece there?

It's a POWER HOUSE but will OVER HEAT and go into Safe Mode real fast unless you use it in COLD weather
