As someone who grew up on a Dariy farm, I will say that even though our hay and straw bales where physically the same dimensions (our baler made 4foott high 5 feet long round bales) the actual capacity was different as the hay was more densely packed, so if you where to unroll the bale the hay would have gone farther than the straw bales would.

now you can adjust the bale size math (how many you need of what size, to maximize the mix) to make TMR in the mixers easier, also the bale stacker that says 14 turns the small bales it into basically one bale

It makes sense that wrapped grass bales need to forment into silage. Placing grass into a bunker silo and covering it, same thing. Now, the only differrence is what procedure a person preferrs to use. Making silage bales is more expensive to do with needing baler that wraps or a do it yourself bale wrapper. Bunker silos, for the most, part are cheaper than balers that wrap or bale wrappers. Besides the bunker silo, all one needs is a loading wagon.
With all the great changes that there are in 22, they could have at least increased the bale limit.
Once again, great video!

Great video, in the silage section you mentioned the max for baler wrappers combo's were 3500L. I skimmed the comments and didn't see anyone mention this. Using the Pottinger Impress 185VC Pro you can increase the wrapped bale size to the 150cm size and get over 3500L in a silage bale (180cm selection will result in an unwrapped grass bale). If you look at the video at 3:23, you can see the specification for wrapped bales is 125-150cm, and for unwrapped 125-180cm. Just keep in mind that if you are bailing grass, the 125 and 150 cm settings will result in a wrapped bale, there is no option for grass bales other than 180cm. In my opinion this is a great feature because in FS19 I had a baler for grass bales and then my combo baler. Now I can do the same job with 1 machine.

So glad that you're pushing out these videos so fast. Great work as usual, can't wait to get my hands on this game.

I think the differences in bale capacities are because of weight. Grass is heavier so smaller capacity. Hay has less weight since the moisture is gone. Straw being lightest material highest capacity. The problem is going to be planning the sizes for different types to keep tmr mixes from going wrong.

Thanks very much, MrSealyP, for all of the time/work & covering all of this so well and so thoroughly - showing & explaining, etc. - all so very informative & so very helpful! Thanks for all of the extra-effort that you’re doing with all of these FS22 videos for us! :-)

As for bales, I have seen a few people ask what is the point of the small bales, especially if you are cutting a bunch of grass won't it make sense to just use a round baler or larger square baler that you can wrap.

For me, I love using them for feeding sheep. Bale up a whole field of grass using the small baler, then use the bale loading wagon for small bales and it bundles them all together into a large bale. Dump that in the storage nook in the sheep pen right beside where you feed them. Cause you will have a single solid block, of all the mini bales that you can then cut open. It is perfect for keeping the sheep topped up, as you can have a stack of mini bales, and cut it open and just pull a couple out and toss them into the feed zone rather than having a massive bale parked on the top of it.

Their are extra stuff with the baby bales apparently you can stack a bunch together and make a big bale which I seen somebody say then that big bale came be wrapped

Giants just stuff console players with the same crap every year. At least make some kind of bale storage shed that allows us to store a proper amount. Great work through MSP!

Watching the tedder gave me goosebumps! Looks so good. Great video as always Mr. SealyP. 🚜

So it's all about density of the material. That might explain the loading beyond weight capacity of trailers, because filling up to the max volume of some crops may exceed the max weight of the trailer, reducing it's life and making it need repair more often, and all because of the density of the material.

FS22 seems so much more cerebral than previous versions.

Thanks for confusing us on a Sunday. So the question is, can you do a TMR ratio video cause I am confused how that's going to work now. MrSealyP school of agriculture solutions, lol.

Wet hay weighs more than dry hay. I like the new bale system. Much more realistic. I've hand loaded thousands of bales back in the day. Hay and straw.
