Being a business guy and a bit of a miserly one, I like to play in a way that forces me to be careful. Starting out with pretty bad stuff, small fields, living in my car. Its more fun having a knuckle biting time of it in the beginning. Or even making a huge mistake. You learn that way. My wife and I do multi-player and she just adds cash through easy dev tool. She plays a completely different style that me. We both have fun.

I would be a farmer in real life if the govt paid me 9 million a day to get started

From the category of manual work (not cheats or buildings with passive income), I suggest immediately dedicating one of your smaller fields to trees for woodchips. In the early game, oaks fully grow in around a year and a single tree yields around 20k woodchips. If you store it in train silos and sell in january, that's around 450k earned from one 1k box of saplings. So basically your only costs are the equipment (tractor, planter, woodchip machine) and the time you spend working. But in early game you won't have anything else to do in the winter months anyway.

The downside of oaks is that they can only be manually cut down. So for mid/late game you can plant spruce which take significantly longer to fully grow and only yield about half the amount per tree, but you can cut them with the big automatic harvesters, pull them to the woodchip cutter and drop them on its conveyor belt. You don't even need to remove the branches first, just drop the entire tree with shift+x and the woodchip machine will automatically pull it in all the way.

Tip from personal experience, if you're going to sell off your buildings for cash, make sure you don't have vehicles or tools in our around them. A bunch of my stuff ended up in the holes that appeared underneath where the buildings used to be and I had to use the land shaping tools to level things out to recover my stuff.

Wow, I had never thought of repaying the loan at night and then taking it back out the next day! Maybe I should give my bank a call....this could be revolutionary for the housing market!!

For grass/silage, there's a couple improvements over the advice given here.

For initial planting there are weeders and rollers which also seed grass.

For collecting the grass, use a front mounted mower on your tractor, and a baler with combined wrapper on the back, you can do it all in one pass.

Instead of fertilising again, buy a grass roller, you'll get the 100% fertilised state without paying for expensive fertiliser.

Don't wait the extra day, as yes you'll get more per harvest this way, you'll get less harvests per year, up to 5 harvests of grass per year is possible if you do your last one of the calendar year in November.
Which results in a higher yearly total harvest.

Thank you for showing my production pack as a part of this important video :-)

You shouldn't delete the silo in "New farmer" mode because it is full of different crops that you could sell, at least before you sell the silo itself

I see lots of people take loans ( which is okay, don’t get me wrong ) but I’m on my 13th year in Haut Beyleron without taking any loans and about 200.000/300.000 earnings a year. For me it works to start productions as soon as you can. Greenhouses and the old grain mill in the mod hub work the best for me to get started.

Fertilizing contract to get bit money, then buy Greenhouses, they go fastest. Then expand with more. 4-5. Easy money and cost almost nothing. Then chickens and pigs for sale. Weird thing is that fields do not make any money if you have to rent equipment… you need big fields then with cotton or so. Small fields dont make anything, just use the space for animals and greenhouses.

I always try to make my games as difficult as possible so this helps alot so I don't do anything too easy

My method - harvest that first field, level it out, and just build 5+ Large Greenhouses and fill them with water. Sell other tools or buildings and sell the lettuce or tomato (I don't suggest strawberries) in Jan or February when the price is high. You don't even need a loan. Greenhouses are Gold mines. Use the money to place Large Chicken coops and Sheeps.Only get to crops when you can afford large fields and equipment. Also do F71 Grass bailing Contracts at the start.

I'm surprised you didn't mention animal productions. IF starting money is little to no object, chickens are a huge bang for the buck. BUT...You need LOTS of chickens. Like 16 large chicken coops. But then you just add feed every month and the eggs are stupid profitable. Milk is the most profitable, but also the most expensive to set up. Wool is also a winner. Pigs and horses...in my experience not so much...But chickens are by far the easiest and the best place to start.

I found in Osiada that baling contracts are broken. They pay alot and you can mow over the boundries and get more bales. The silage bales turn instantly to silage. And if you need to you can keep the extra either hay or silage bales bales when you need them. I made like 100 to 200 thousand in just those contracts in a year. And they are small fields.

another tip, if you want to make money in forestry you could start broke (or close too) and lease the equipment id suggest saving to buy it asap though since it cost around 10k-20k upfront to lease the expensive equipment daily youll probably spend around 10k for a cutter and a log loader per day unless you hire workers for hauling. if all you do is harvest wood to start slow the time down, increase days per month max.. you profit more per month itll effect the numbers you see. on 4 days a month i think i averaged around 400k and spent like 80k on leased equipment then i baught a loader for equipment and suddenly leasing was around 40k

I just got this game 2 days ago because it is free on Epic at the moment. At least the base game is. I noticed on the harvesting contracts, the last little bit you deliver goes to you. Aside from not trashing your own equipment, every time I've done it so far the money it gives you far exceeds the rental costs. And yeah, even as a noob to FS22 I bought fertilizing equipment so fertilizer contracts are really a no brainer.

I've also found out that using the starter Elmwood Farm for grass, is like the stupidest thing you can do. Unlike FS17 (the game I have played alot, I skipped FS19) where grass/silage can make a profit right out of the gate using your starting resources and land.

Thx for the tutorial, coming from being a long time console player to being a PC Player is different when you can have greater mods.
