“It’s Abhorrent” | Fury Over Rising Asylum Backlog As Country Grapples With Soaring Migration

People are “sick of talk” and want action to reduce net migration, Robert Jenrick said as he insisted a “serious package of fundamental reforms” is planned.

The immigration minister said official estimates that net migration up for 2023, up until June, stood at 672,000 places “untold pressure” on housing supply, public services and “makes successful integration virtually impossible”.

Jeremy Kyle slams the Government for the existing migration crisis in the country.

He says: "I find it abhorrent that in 2023, the fifth most successful country in the world has 170,000 people waiting to be processed."

We need to overhaul our immigration laws. Ditch the cash cow called the HOME OFFICE and leave the European Court of Human Rights.... We should stop this merry-go-round, please 😢

A responsible government, recognising the existential crisis faced by the UK, would declare any asylum backlog null and void; how can countries whose indigenous citizens have no access to regular healthcare and other services, possibly be expected to drain resources further by taking in unwanted migrants?

Why the hell should anyone bring dependents?! Try that in America, it's a no go! And rightly so! Students who come to America to study do not bring ANY dependents!

Incredible, why are they only now concerned about students dependants. Should not have been allowed from the get go especially if they were not contributing anything.

I said 16 years ago they should spend 25, 000 on immigration officers per head and be preventative rather than plug the problem paying 25, 000 per illegal who had arrived and therefore reduce immigration officer numbers due to cost. I was a little too outspoken about immigration as they were corrupt and staff were abusing other staff… I was shut down and forced out, needless to say.

Do we have quality universities? No one has achieved anything since Einstein in 1905 (and 1915).

Global universities are simply the top goal scorers of the div team. They haven't actually progressed at all, especially since 1997.

Have some non-Guardian readers assess the ayslum applications, they'd probably reject the majority in less than thirty seconds.

Stop all asylum claims. And deport every single person who put in a claim. The backlog is sorted.

We need to reduce immigration to no more than 100, 000 a year. Anyone who does not get in must apply again next year. There are far too many in far too short a period..

The british isles future is to become basically a cold version of india, that means similar overcrowding n ethnicity, maybe the new breeds will be so intelligent that space travel will become much easier, then the future people can enjoy the starwars future we all got promised but never saw for ourselves, except on movies of course, whenever a teacher asked me what i wanted to be as n 80s kid i always said "astronaut"i wasnt smart enough tho n never made it past being a space cadet imo.
