A person's sexuality or choice of sexuality should not be a topic for schools to discuss. These are personal individual matters that should be talked about in a family or medical setting. Teachers are at the school to teach academics and not to deal with personal social matters. A school councilor is there to support all children in their beliefs and to help a child cope with whatever he or she is dealing with that may be keeping them from reaching their full potential. If I walk into a mall naked, then someone will call the police. That is because there are certain things that people are not supposed to do while at the mall. The same thing with this. Talking about a person's sexuality or health issues are not something that we should be discussing at school. That is just how I feel. When I was a kid, we went to school to learn how to read, write, do math and history. Now the teachers can't even teach because they are so worried about offending someone and all the politics that people are bringing into the schools. I think if I was raising young children in today's society, I would just teach them at home and keep my kids away from all this bull. It is okay for people to believe what they want, just don't bring it into the schools. Keep your business at home where it belongs. It is not okay for people to say that you must believe what I say because I said it. It is okay for someone to say I disagree with you, but we can still talk.
