The song is about accepting the inevitability of death and appreciating what is right in front of you. It is also one of our most upbeat and hopeful songs musically. We talked about the possibility of there being a dog in the video, and I was excited that he added one that looks like one of mine. And I can totally relate to having a dog best friend be your only companion and reason for getting up at times. My favorite part of the video is when the human dies before the dog. The whole thing gives me such a sense of melancholy and that's exactly what I wanted to feel with this song.
