The most useless AMD CPU | Ryzen 7000X3D

preview_player
Показать описание
It's been a long time since we've seen processor manufacturers rely on the cache – and an experiment in the face of Ryzen 5800X3D showed that a lot of fast memory gives a good boost in games. And what about Risen 7000X3D, which are already very fast? What bonuses does an extra L3 cache give? Are there any pitfalls? We have sorted out the non-obvious nuances of the big red cache.

I don't understand the point of "there's no point buying the best cpu on a new platform." not everyone upgrades frequently and just want the best they can get for the money (which right now is the 7800x3d). If we always wait for the next generation, no one will ever buy anything. We live in the here and now, not the future.

I have used the 7900x3D and loved it, but i can changing over from the 5960x X99. For me this is amazing, I upgraded to the 7950x3D and did not over clock the CPU because I knew what the deal was. I underclocked the CPU -20 all core to get a stable boost and use Process Lasso to make sure all non gaming tasks are on the Frequency CCD to reduce 1% lows. I did tighten the ram timings and that was it. I now have 99% usage on my 3080 and have gained 40-50FPS in most games on my Samsung CR49 5160x1440. This FPS is like going from 70-80 to 130-160. I have no issues playing the new Star Wars Jedi Survivor at 60-80 FPS. I have seen over 100fps in Star citizen and can use all my toys HOTAS etc. without worrying due to my seemingly endless cores. I am using Corsair 240 AIO and Idle at 49c and 78c under load. I have no issues with the 7950x3D and plan to use it for year to come. This may not be for everyone but I am loving this CPU.

The whole x3d cpus "blowing up" was narrowed down to the motherboard, and either the bios or amd AGESA

I think your content, the information you provide and the way you present it is very good. Good production value as well. Hope your channel grows healthily. You deserve it IMO.

Well Asus and other motherboard vendors are already rolling out patches that remedy the failure issues. I hope the warranty covers anyone affected. As far as your other points go, and they are quite strong, the 7800X3D will be surpassed in the future by better CPUs, that's the nature of tech. I think it will be powerful enough to stand the test of time in the coming years, since its so overkill now.
Full disclosure - I just got a 7800X3D, so I'm biased. I also considered the 5800X3D and the i7-13700K and while they look great, I decided to go with the 7800X3D for the future proofing for gaming. I hope it was the right call. In any case it will be better than the i5-7400 I was rocking until now.

Please, someone could tell me if a 12 cores CPU is better for simulation games ? I plau mostly FS, DCS and other heavy sim games, and I don't know if 8 cores will be enough for a long time

AMD cpus with 3D cache don't just die on their own. They can have problems if you leave voltages on AUTO in the bios and pair it with a fast memory. Its only a problem in 7xxx series, because the bios sets around 1.4v SOC voltage for the cpu... But that is overclocking already (XMP/DOCP). And if you overclock, NEVER use auto voltages for anything... If you can't figure this out on your own, don't overclock. These cpus are fine for what they are made - mainly gaming. I play Escape from Tarkov and here the 5800X3D is 70% faster than the 5800X...

I've had the 7950x on the Asrock Taichi Carrara x670 with 2x16gb Kingston Renegade CL32 6000mhz since launch, still on the 1.11.AS06 [Beta] bios, there has been two new revisions since I updated but my system is running good so I haven't bothered updating it. I did have issues with earlier revisions such as PBO and Curve settings crashing my system but now it runs great -20mv on 1.11.AS06. Actual clock speed is still not showing up in Rivatuner though, Riva has it at 5.5ghz but Master has it under 4.7ghz.

I agree with your view point in this video, better off witth a 7700x on a B650 board over spending more on the 7800x3D. 7800x3D is $251 more than the 7700x here in Australia, imo it doesn't perform $251 better same with the 7950x3D over the 7950x. Would have preferred to have seen a 7600x3D released over the higher core count processors.

Thanks for the video mate

Saying the next line of CPUs are coming is a bit of a misnomer, the new round of gaming hardware is always coming out soon. If you want the best for gaming, get a 7800X3D and replace it with a 9000 or even 10000 series if it’s still on AM5.

There is a big performance metric that ive noticed is not included in cpu reviews. extra cache has a big boost in VR in particular with unity based games its is massive and although vr is not mainstream gaming with such an expensive set up it is widely used compared to a budget system. also i think that in a year or two when the 8000 series comes out the price of these cpus will go down changing the dynamics of where the cpu's come in for price and performance. i expect the 7800xd to look probably not as favorable as the 5800xd but to be viewed similarly as a fast chip for the money as newer cpus are released.

I disagree with your title. The 7950x3d is basically a threadripper performance CPU that is excellent at gaming.

Doesn't AMD 3D cpu have a 1% FPS dip issue? Many are spotting this issue when gaming.

i actually went for an upgrade from an i7 4790k to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D and it was because of falling prices of DDR4 ram especailly when there's a chance i could afford 128gb of DDR4 Ram in quad channel if prices continues to drop for DDR4 ram i have 32gb of ram currently

There's Ryzen 5 5500 and 5600, 6 core 1xCCD one has 16MB of L3 the other has 32MB

I thought you made some great points but the 7800X3D and this is just my assumption from watching reviews, seems it’s easy to cool. But I’m leaning towards 7700X because I really enjoy and like running the Expo Tweaked profile on my B650E-F MB

Sounds like Amd should stop trying to advance technology. I think your being a little to critical of Amd
