1. Puget Systems Intel Core vs. AMD Ryzen CPU Failure Rates
Puget Systems, a well-known custom PC builder, recently shared data on CPU failure rates, revealing higher failure rates for AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors compared to Intel's 14th Gen CPUs. The report showed that Ryzen 7000 series had more failures during testing and initial use, which could be due to various factors like manufacturing defects or design issues. However, it's important to note that these findings are based on Puget Systems' own data and may not represent the overall market situation. This information has sparked discussions about the reliability of AMD's latest CPUs versus Intel's offerings, and whether AMD needs to address these issues to maintain consumer trust.

2. Newegg and Japanese Retailers List AMD Ryzen 9000 Series Ahead of Launch
Retailers like Newegg and some in Japan have prematurely listed AMD's upcoming Ryzen 9000 series processors ahead of their official launch. These listings provided early insight into the expected specifications and prices of the new CPUs. The Ryzen 9000 series is anticipated to bring significant performance improvements over previous generations, with higher core counts and enhanced efficiency. Early pricing suggests that AMD is positioning these processors competitively against Intel's latest offerings. These listings have generated excitement and speculation in the tech community about the potential performance and value of the new Ryzen CPUs.

3. Best Buy Lists AMD's Ryzen 9000 CPUs from $279 to $599
Best Buy has listed AMD's Ryzen 9000 series CPUs with prices ranging from $279 to $599. This range includes various models, catering to different segments from budget-conscious users to high-end enthusiasts. The listings confirmed the core counts and clock speeds of these new processors, highlighting AMD's focus on delivering powerful yet affordable options. This pricing strategy indicates AMD's intent to capture a larger share of the CPU market by offering compelling performance at attractive prices. The listings have also confirmed the release timeline, with availability expected soon, which has further fueled anticipation among consumers and reviewers.

4. AMD Ryzen 9000 CPU Family Compared in Cinebench: Purported Scores for the 9900X, 9700X, and 9600X
Purported Cinebench scores for the upcoming AMD Ryzen 9000 series CPUs, including the 9900X, 9700X, and 9600X, have surfaced, showing impressive performance gains over the previous generation. The 9900X, in particular, stands out with its higher multi-core and single-core performance, making it a strong contender against Intel's latest CPUs. The 9700X and 9600X also show substantial improvements, suggesting that the entire Ryzen 9000 lineup will offer significant performance boosts for both gaming and productivity tasks. These early benchmarks have created a buzz in the tech community, as users look forward to seeing how these new processors will perform in real-world applications.

Funny, if i check failure rates in my country 2nd biggest retailer, its 1% for Ryzen 7000 x3d chips, 2% for non x3d but 9% for 14900k (and that does not include direct RMA to intel or refused RMA).

Intel strategy: If you can't win, shame the competitor....

Jon Bach, president and founder of PUGET SYSTEM, In addition to his role at Puget Systems, Jon also represents the company on the Intel Board of Advisors, which helps Intel see the real-world application of their products, and how to better serve their users.

Jon Bach is the President of Puget Systems and coincidentally happens to be on Intel's Board of Advisors. A little food for thought.

Very intriguing for sure. I'm very happy with my AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D cpu - with my MSI Radeon RX 7900XTX Gaming Trio Classic

Puget Sound is a waterway around Seattle named after Peter Puget a member of Vancouver Expedition. Weird name for sure, I think of French or similar origin.

I have the money set aside for a new PC. But I think I’ve been watching too many YouTube videos on these types of subjects. Got me scratching my head constantly thinking maybe I should just wait until next year before making a final decision. I just want a good gaming PC.

Puget's customers won't be running much the things like the UE5 decompression or Minecraft server which is triggering instability and apparent degradation even on Supermicro boards.
Are they even buying the same K SKUs as the gaming market which compete on performance at ludicrous high power usage?
Intel have been denying requests to RMA and they are taking longer and longer. So in general there are problems and Puget avoiding the worst by detuning the i9's and i7's doesn't mean their chips won't start failing later.
Many Intel buyers are pointing at the 7800x3D blowing up on launch, but that was down to buggy mobo BIOS's setting silly voltages & power on the motherboard, which was swiftly remedied by AMD re-validating mobo BIOS and an immediate RMA on the unfortunate customers affected.
In contrast Intel allowed a wild west of competitive tuning by default, which turned off CPU protection features so things like an undervolt with unlimited power did not drop performance.
The result is a melange of causes for CPU problems in a hubris QA culture that's caused common failures and developers and data centers have the data to back it. Intel just kept quiet and have pissed off most OEMs

I have a suspicion that some of the oddities we are seeing are due to Windows on bare metal. I’m going back to Debian.

Damned thing reboots randomly. Annoying as hell.

This is the most fun I have had watching a tech video in a long time. You need to team up with Steve from Gamers Nexus and start a second channel, you could talk about anything and it would be outrageously entertaining.

LOL that's just BS. They are literally the ONLY ones that report this "failure rate" of AMD CPU's. And yes Jon Bach is the President of Puget Systems and on Intel's Board of Advisors.

i get it but still i7 14700k isnt that much behind the i9 14900k when it comes to performance.

Apparently non-K CPUs are not exempt from the issue

Now I have undervolt cpu. But 1 to 2 % loss. And 55 to 65 degree while gaming. Regularly 39 to 45 degree. 14900k
