My favourite combo, Emma and Michael! Very clear and detailed review from a person who knows her way around bikes and Neeves contributing to the comments without taking over. Brilliant! Emma also seems wonderfully gifted with self distance and humility, like with the Scot oiler.
Good looking bike as well!

I already have a GT but watching these reviews makes me even more happy about my decision :)

It would be great to give her the new tracer or 1000sx the following year to get a long term comparison 👍

My fellow 'busa fan EF is lucid, gives helpful opinions & presents well with MN. Even with appropriate 'extras', the Suzuki is great value & a realistic alternative to the all-conquering SX.Thanks, both.

I agree with most of the comments having had mine for a similar period. Out of interest. I upgraded to braided lines and sintered pads. Brakes are very good now. The biggest gripe is the Suzuki spin app which loses contact with your phone. I installed a separate Zumo XT using the Evo performance bracket. With these 2 issues resolved, I love this bike!

Excellent review of a great machine. Similar to my z1000sx. On the panniers comment, once you have put them on and taken them off a few times they are not really fiddley. Practice makes perfect as they say. Best wishes to you both for the new year. Looking forward to more great material from MCN.

I've been riding sport bikes sense 1992 on and off and now they are too uncomfortable for me now to ride, this is the perfect replacement for what I want in a motorcycle comfortable and a sporting pedigree. I'll be getting one this year and look forward to riding more as my current bike is too uncomfortable to ride for any distance. Brake pads tires and suspension will be the first upgrades.

2 great people showing us round a bike. I hope Emma gets a go of the Kawasaki next long termer.

Two things as an owner of this machine, you can set the mileage/fuel to miles to go until empty, secondly you can get the maps back up whilst moving…. Just hold the return button down for a couple of seconds

Maybe the best long-term review so far. You make a pretty good couple! 🙂

My biggest gripe has been the front brake which doesn’t have much bite. ABS interrupts at least once on every ride, but not sure if it’s the combination of wooden brake pad and plastic OE tyres. Next season I’ll change out the brake pads and tyres.

Good honest review. It bugs me that heated grips aren’t standard (or why Suzuki don’t offer a ‘SE’ or ‘TE’ model with a few extras for a bit more money). Those Oxford heated grips look awful. I did a deal with my Suzuki dealer when I bought my V-Strom 1050 XT and got the OE heated grips fitted, they have 3 settings and work really well. Regarding the cruise control switch on the right, it’s never bothered me - I just start the bike, press the button and ride off. When I want to set the speed it’s just 1 press of the left switch & then to turn it off, roll the throttle forward (or obviously touch either brake). So you never have to press it again. It keeps the left switchgear less cluttered.

I've always said this is a good buy !!! I first had panniers on my Triumph....what a revelation ! Panniers are DEFINITELY worth the money !! Sport tourers rule !!! The best road bikes out NOT adventure bikes

My first bike is a an 07 CBF600, so I prefer a more traditional style. Having said that, something about this the GSX's modern looks are really growing on me... the angular lines look very futuristic, almost Blade Runner-esque. And I LOVE that colour! Deffo a contender when I make the jump to 1L and want to try touring.

Great review!

Found the review a bit contradictory at times, love the panniers but find them fiddly-they’re easy. Love the engine but find it vibrates….
I’m 6’1”, it’s been more than comfortable enough for full day rides.
Average consumption showing @50.4mpg & open it up & it flies.
Would’ve like to see how they fitted the scottoiler & made it look tidy.

I've had my GT for about 6 months now. Absolutely my favourite bike among all the ones I've owned (title previously held by the VFR800). The phone connectivity is pretty bad though; I've given up on it.

Excellent review. That was really helpful. I think the buzzing or vibration is what would get me.

Good review. Brakes can be improved with steel braided lines and different pads. I’ve had good results with Ferodo sintered pads in the front and organic pads in the rear. As for engine buzziness, try a different oil. Motul 300V is smoother at higher rpm than other oils per my experience.
