Eventually Princess Grace succumbed to alcoholism. She drank at certain times but it Eventually got out of control in her final years. She gained a lot of weight from champagne, wine & caviar. As a result of alcoholism she had a brain aneurysm while driving. Or maybe the aneurysm came after the car crash. She was known to be a terrible driver

I don't understand the part when she gets a stroke out of nowhere & suffers an accident due to her "serene & gracious life". Is this all what happened to her or something else that's not included here!? By the way am absolutely beautiful & amazing story but this out of nowhere stroke strikes me & I might need to watch the movie version too in order to understand what was the reason for her stroke & accident. Because here nothing mentioned about it. People do not have strokes as a result of serene, royal lives.

Prince Rainier had a long term mistress throughout their marriage. He married Grace for her fame & her father's money. He was often unkind to Grace, snapping at her & throwing tantrums. Her family was quite unkind as well. She was bullied. Poor Grace. Rainier was hardly a safe haven. He did regret his rotten behavior after her death when he finally realized exactly what he had lost. A true Princess. Too little, too late pal (idiot)

German Irish Ancestry. Typical, her German Ancestry Mother dismissed because the Mother & not Irish. Wonder if Grace Patricia ever did anything spontaneously. She always seemed to be putting on an act, like the flowerr in the poem she wrote. The flower is exposed to wind & rain "but you never let it show, on your pretty face" She requested scripts be sent to her under the pretence of caring about contrnt as a Catholic Mother but as she told a pal "I just like to read scripts" probably acted them out. Serms she lost her virginity to a friend's dad at 17. Told the Catholic Church that she broke her hymen cycling. Her giggly little girl act & dress on her honeymoon & during the engagement are absurd. She wanted Caroline to marrry Charles. Richard Burton said the strain of constantly "holding herself in" would affect her health & indeed she had a stroke.
