Broody Chicken saving Duck eggs

Ducks sometimes choose an impossible place for their nest and keep on trying it there. In this case, some curious sheep kept on crashing the unlucky eggs. It was time to intervene, but we needed some help…

I love how Mama hen stays so close to the water and the ducklings are not straying away even though they love the water. This so adorable

I love how the hen was like, "I'm good here with one foot in getting sip of water. You little ones go ahead and have a swim."

I love the genuine and heart warming smile he makes when he hears the unhatched ducklings in their eggs.

When I was a girl on our small family farm, we had a club-footed chicken who was always sitting on eggs, but hatching none. Despite her maternal yearnings, she seemed to be sterile. One spring, one of the ducks made her nest under a rhododendron. Shortly before the ducklings were due to hatch, a coyote scared her off the nest and she abandoned it.

So Dad collected the eggs and traded the club-footed hen for the artificial eggs she had been given to keep her happy. Two days later, the hen became a beaming mom! That is, until she marched her little troupe along side the drainage ditch - at which point, to Mother Hen's dismay - they all dove in!

That poor hen was the sight to see, frantically flapping her wings and clucking loudly, as she stamped her club feet up and down the bank, scolding her naughty children! She wasn't happy about it, but she soon enough accepted the strange habits of her brood. And that is how a hungry coyote made a want-to-be mom (mostly) very happy!

I like how mom protects the eggs, but does not want to hurt the man

I love how you help chicks out of their shell. I’m always anxious that they may not make it and am sad when chicks (any animal) doesn’t make it. It’s heart breaking. But I can’t stop watching as I know you will go above and beyond to help your rescues survive. All your rescues are amazing! There’s a special place in Heaven for you!

I really like how u keep Momma Chicken with the babies even when they go to the pond. I've seen ppl use Hens to hatch duck eggs and then they immediately take the ducklings away because they said "' a chicken can't raise a duck it's for their safty" I left a comment and asked if they thought the Hen was gonna eat them or somethin' cuz he said "for the ducklings safety" it just doesn't make sense to me, because your's always seem to do just fine!!! Thank you for sharing!!

The peeping of a duckling or chick is such a wonderful sound. Broody hens are funny as they don’t take any nonsense from anyone 😁.

That surrogate chicken mum is beautiful! What lovely plumage. 🤗 You must be a very handy friend to have, with all your expertise on our feathered friends! And other animals too, of course. The world needs more people like you. 👍🥰 You spread joy to animals and humans alike. ☺️

i think this man is a hero and closest to the best man could ever be. If I am ever looking for a mate, he should be like him. Patience, compassion, love, care, this is what world, animals and human needs.

I adopted 3 ducklings a day old. The first week I saved one of their lives from watching this channel <3 The little one was choking and I was able to save it.

After watching your videos, my son(15 years old) also followed the same operation to make them out of the shell. He prepared his own incubator, a simple one, a cardboard. A 6 chicks from 14 eggs hatched. 2 are alive and laying eggs now. it happened (hatching)in the month of October last year. Me and my son are your fans for the past two years. From India 🇮🇳

Dear Alwyn, you're so so amazing! Thanks to your videos I could help hatching a duck egg and 7 goose eggs: I had an old incubator that dried the eggs to much, so I had to help them by keeping them moist and I also helped the babies to break the shell and let them breathe. It was a great success, and I experienced some of the most beautiful moments of my life! I'm so grateful to you, for what you do every day and for what you taught me!

Hens are so fostering/loving despite what the world does to them. They fascinate me. ❤

I watch a lot of YouTube and I truly have to say that this channel is far superior to most in the way of content. You really hear a human word spoken but it speaks directly to the heart. Anyone could watch this and understand it's meaning. It's beautiful.

Your hen didn't seem worried when ducklings went into water. Mine went crazy. lol She was clucking and going up and down the side of my pond. Was cute.
