When I was in my twenties I was an aspiring musician.
I had a Fostex four track cassette deck, a few effects and I had a ball, though demos sent out back then most commonly were consigned to oblivion.
I'm getting back into it 30 years later and just for me. The technology has changed so much that I'm trying to catch up with it and this sort of video presentation helps an old guy with the basics.

Brilliantly said, especially about the headphones. I've been playing & recording since 1974, so I come from the analog tape days, that being said, regular store bought headphones are essential because, like you said, that is what people normally use, & since our consumers are regular everyday people, not sound engineers(no puns intended), they are the ones who buy our music!!!
