We will be looking at the spiritual gift of giving. What does the Bible have to say about this gift? Our main focus will be on what the Bible says about tithing and grace giving. What is our obligation as believers in the area of giving?

Paul was collecting for the saints in jerusalem that were being prosecuted. It didnt go to “the church” they attended. The church is not a building, its the body of believers.
“Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, ”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭7:48‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I’ve thought for years that tithing was another of the 613 laws. So glad to have that confirmed.

Technically the "Tithe" was the main economic force in Ancient Israel but today we can give freewill offerings and gifts to help in God's work.

The New testament said nobody is worthy to receive the Tithe, we are not a church state

I heard a story about a pastor who named his boat “The Storehouse.” It was a nice boat.

We are not under that type of thing. Jesus was the only sacrifice that matters. Giving is a manner of principle of the heart. We are to help those in need, it is not sacrificing. It is morally right to help those in need.
We are not under a double standard. 😒

Where do I get the best version of the Bible without that Scofield weirdos influence? Any tips anyone?

Giving may have been worship in the old covenant, but we are not in the old covenant.

Peter and the others really put the pressure on when he asked annaiahs and Sephora when asked them why has Satan put this in your heart to do this?
Why would they asked that? They really cooked it up between themselves. 😏 Peter though blamed it on satan. 😏

Tithes are not apart of the church and pastors should not get paid, it is a sign of a false teacher.
2 Peter 2:3 KJV — And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

Giving is not worship. When we give it is to help others in need. If we are the temple then the is supposed give when it is needed. An offering is somethings else. An offering is a donation for the building to help help pay bills. In donation we can any amount. In the scripture where anniah and sephariah gave they gave a certain amount but lied about what it was and said it was how much they got for whole deal and kept some back, . It was type scandal they were doing. So the disciples were really upset that they did this. That is why they asked why they made this up to lie about about the money.
That is probably where most get it that God will punish you for not tithing, When the 2 found out that God knew their heart they died from fright, because in the new covenant God said they he would be merciful to our iniquities. I don't believe God killed them.
The disciples though said you haven't lied us but have lied to God. I think they were trying to twist things just a bit. for Example Sara denied laughing that she was going to child at 90. God didn't kill her for that, So something is a bit off here.

To him that knows to do good and does it not is a sin. If we know to give to ministers/evangelists and the poor then the question is how much? Does the Lord give a different number every week? Are we not to do things decently and in order? The tithe is the lowest common denominator. You used old covenant principles of giving even though you said sacrifices of animals were mentioned with Noah and Abraham. I think saying taxation is a misnomer. If the government may bring punishments for avoidance of them, would not the Lord for living in his world? How do people learn the principles of sowing and reaping except by spiritual realities. God gave us grace for salvation but wants to see love by obedience in Biblical principles. If we give our mammon first to him, it shows mammon is not our master. If 10% represents the whole, then the tithe should be the amount given to God.

In our day and age, we have pensions...
So now how does that apply to "help the Widow" who is making more off her husband's pension, without working, than you do working 40+hrs/wk?...🤔
It seems the Bible's context is concerning moreso "those in need". So, even a widow, who's got more money than you, can't possibly be in need - at least not financially. But there's more than one way to give. 😉
