A lady from church told I needed to be able to pray in tongue in order to get closer to the Holy Spirit. This video made me understand that it might not be a gift for me, but that doesn’t mean God hasn’t blessed me with other gifts to use and to get closer to Him.

i live in iran .... im turned to christianity and i enjoy it. my family and people around me mocking me when i pray or preach god and explaination of god the father god the son and holy spirit they think im crazy ! most of people dont understand one god in three person. we dont have church we cant expose ourself because muslims dont like us and if govrement know we turnd to christianity they will execute us for heresy to islam. we dont have a place to worship jesus and pray in holy sabbath. i realy want our saviour and our god jesus come . realy we suffer so much . god bless be upon all of you and damn to demon hood.peace ♥️

Thank you for this video! I remember this one pastor at this conference I went to last year, the pastor kept forcing me to speak in tongues during alter call. I literally could not and she kept saying ask the Holy spirit & she kept asking me to speak, so I just started speaking nonsense 🤷🏾‍♀️ . Been left that church, but I am realizing the importance of knowing the bible for yourself, because pastors can be wrong too.

Great stuff as always. Even if these gifts are still active, they can be wielded by immature Christians, and should not be used as grounds for boasting, or for being given positions of leadership apart from all of the other biblical qualifications.

I’ve taken a few test about spiritual gifts & I always get discernment/prophecy. I’ve never seen the future or anything but I pick up on things that are not of God. I’ve always had a strong sense of what’s wrong and right. I really wish I could strength this gift & learn how to use to help others.

If spiritual gifts have ceased, send God a memo.
People can be presumptuous, based on the fact that since they have not experienced these gifts, they no longer are given.
Paul said desire spiritual gifts, which implies that we should seek God for them.
The gifts are effectual, the do what they are designed to do.
The gifts work as the Spirit moves us in faith, we simply yield.
The abundance of illegitimate gifts have led many to conclude they no longer exist. Let God be true though every man be a liar.
One must realize that you cannot invalidate the biblical spiritual experiences of others. Your unbelief cannot change what God has done for others. You would think that every Christian would rejoice when one of us is baptized with the Holy Ghost, and immediately in evidence is tongues, prophecy, stammering lips, or any combination that can be readily observable by those present, as on the day of Pentecost.
But what we get among us is a pettiness that even the world couldn't comprehend.
Let us provoke one another to love and good works. Keep the peace.

Because there is so much confusion and division in the body of Christ over doctrinal issues such as these (and many others), we must earnestly study the scriptures while simultaneously seeking the Lord for "revelation knowledge and discernment" concerning such significant issues. We must continually ask the Lord to adjust us (our theology) accordingly as we endeavor to rightly divide (2 Tim 2:15)! "For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven’t stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, " Col 1:9. & "Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints." Eph 6:18. Personally, I am not a cessationist theologically but however, I question allot of what I have seen over the years in the charismatic environment.

Allen I love this series I have used it to teach new converts in my church. I think it is quite difficult to only use spiritual gifts where unbleivers are not present if not impossible but I do think it is imperitive for the person leading the meeting to explain what is happening and to make sure there is order in use of spiritual gifts

You are so great. You speak the truth. I have many gifts. I have done many miracles, I have healed many people, and saved many from hell. Brought many to Jesus. I have lived 10 lives in one lifetime. I have raised many children, and two of my own. I have been blessed with many grand and great grandchildren. I have been all over this continent and touched many lives, helped many move on and get back into life, through Jesus, I have done many things.

Yes the gifts still do exist..
Like you said everywhere they walk. people are not healed.. when I first came to the Lord I knew a person and was discipled for about a year living in their house...
I knew the gift was authentic.. because I've lived with them and move them very personally..
People never said what was wrong with them... That would be picked out of the congregation and the Lord showed what their problem or ailment was.. then prayer then healing.. I seen this thousand times over.. and that was always correct.
Responding person always knew it was truth.
Even when a man denied is Malady once. The minister said the Lord is never wrong.. but the person is still denied it..
After the service his wife came to the minister privately and said it was a sure and that he had that Malady. Also Lot of prophecies. Concerning people and their walk with the Lord and life were always correct... . Was never a big TV personality or any mega churches
. But there is the real operating. I have also been healed myself... So I know without a doubt.

He keeps saying that I need to be blessed in the spirit, that I should speak in tongues. And with him speaking in tongues, he scared away Christians who prayed with him.
