I've pulled really good prints on French Paper using the same kit

This is a great tutorial. I have ordered the same kit and have a workshop for 15. Do we have to use the dots? I would rather avoid ordering 15 kits just for the dots. Does the ink sit on the water by itself. I currently use scola marbing ink, but the colours appear faded. Thank you

Is it okay to use a normal bond paper?
