Realistically, you should try doing this from a fresh account starting at 0 for the most realistic results. Being an already established account with 345, 000 followers may not be an objectively reliable method of info gathering in this regard. Very much appreciative of the insight!

5k followers here, been creating for almost a year, I'd say long captions don't really affect my content. I have reels that have done great in terms of reach with shorter concise captions. As a whole, I think captions should just help reaffirm the narrative from which you are speaking to, nothing more, nothing less, along with the utilization of hashtags :P. But who am I to talk, just a small creator who likes making videos :). Loved this longform video though Pat, thanks for the information!
