If you work and she doesn't why should you have to clean and cook .you can't say that being a stay at home wife or mom is harder than going out working 8+hours a day for your family. If shes not going to clean, cook(and take care of your kid if you have one) what does she do, other than sit around all day eating your food sitting on your couch living in your house all of which you pay for. And as you say your wife is your partner, partners both contribute not just one doing majority or all of the work.
