This is the most accurate portrayal of local news media... that I've ever seen. Spot on.

As a former master control operator for a local news station, this isn't satire this is a spot on accurate commentary of it all.

I worked in local television for 30 years. While I was the weather guy, I could recite an entire newscast in my sleep depending on the time of year or topic of the day.. We had a saying...the call letters may change but it's all the same. Love your stuff John!

I can’t get over how accurate this is, not only for gas prices for every news in general

This is incredibly accurate, right down to the soundbite getting cut off at 0:52 😂

I went to school for broadcasting and this is spot on, they taught us to do it like this, with the establishing shots and voiceover video. I remember whenever we tried to change it up and maybe try something different the processor would get super offended "no! This is how it's done!"

Wouldn't be complete without a mention of "Pain at the pump"

That exact phrase apparently NEEDS to be used every time high gas prices are mentioned in the news.

There will be more pain at the pump soon, so get ready for pain at the pump. It is painful at the pump, when you painfully pump at the painful pump.

People are seeing right through the media more and more .... It's beautiful!!

you nailed it all, even down the news narrator sounding like they just recorded it in the street, capturing all the street sounds, the sound bite cutoff. only thing that it’s missing is statistics and the fact that you’re missing a person standing on their phone in front of the gas station

As a former video editor in news for 10 years, this is 100% accurate.

I got interviewed. By a local one a little while back when they first took off.

They asked me a bunch of questions unrelated then how are the high prices impacting me.

I just said "Did they? I hadn't noticed"

Love that the interviewee thinks not getting chillies is worse than not getting groceries

Eerily accurate! And the sound effects, SPOT ON. The only criticism? The missing "Back to you Cynthia..." as the anchor shakes her head in disbelief....and segues into a heartwarming puppy rescue news with that million dollar smile.

We need more of these accurate news stories. Maybe one about a crime and how there's always that one person that says "this is a quiet neighborhood. Things like this doesn't happen here".

I spent almost five years working for a local news broadcaster in the UK and laughed so hard at this. I remember us actually doing a story on rising petrol prices which made this look like Frost/Nixon.

*I thought the guy was gonna say he was gonna sell one of his kids.* 😂😂😂

I bet the only reason news teams do these segments is because they shoot random footage and get interviews when they're at the gas station fueling their own vehicles 😂

This might go down in history as the most accurate news ever

"The temperature isn't the only thing going up these days, so are the gas prices. Let's hear what Caleb Holt found out in this week's 'Caleb's Two Cents'."
