Sanders to Trump: You lose support every time you talk about healthcare – so 'go for it'

When the Supreme Court overturned the Chevron Doctrine in late June, it upended 40 years of precedent that had deferred judgment to federal agencies when laws are unclear. The ripple effects of that decision are beginning to be felt-- this week, the Carroll Independent School District in Texas rejected an order from the Department of Education to develop a plan addressing civil rights violations affecting some of its students. The district cites the recent Supreme Court decision as a basis for challenging the DOE's authority. The Carroll school district is “completely controlled by far-right conservatives” who believe “the Education Department doesn’t have the authority to interpret foundational civil rights laws,” says Mike Hixenbaugh, senior NBC reporter.

I’m a Senior Citizen. I can’t afford glasses or dental work. I’m widowed and live on Social Security. Due to the long illness and early death oh my husband followed by a two year Cancer Battle for myself, our modest savings were emptied due to co pays and insurance not covering injections at $80 per day for my husband and then me.
Project 2025 will eliminate SS and Medicare. I hope every Senior Citizen in the country is paying attention to this! it is real, folks who do not read please listen up.

*The fact that paid sick leave and paid holidays and mandatory 41K accounts are not mainstream in the US baffles me, here in Australia it's the norm, my mother's friend built up so much holiday and long service leave over the years that she takes off every Friday now, so she gets a long weekend every weekend.*

I watched the rally live in Vegas with my 74 year old mother and my 9 year old daughter. It was incredible. Amazing. My daughter kept asking us, “why are you crying?” And I kept saying, “these are happy tears.”

Yes!! Someone finally said it! Canada is further left than Sanders! Are we a communist country???? It baffles me how the US is so afraid of social programs that HELP people!! You should study what France, Norway, Germany, Finland…the list goes on…does for their people. WE envy THEM! Their motto is “womb to tomb” in terms of taking care of its citizens. Are taxes higher? Yes, but when you live in freedom of fear of guns, medical bills, and seniors care (and sooo much more) it’s totally worth. There are reasons these countries always have the highest ratings of happiness each year. Take the step, America! Invest in your people! Rooting for you from Canada! ❤

We have all of Walz policies in GERMANY 🇩🇪 since like 50 years. Very important for a strong middle class.
It’s called „SOCIAL MARKET ECONOMY“.
Really, vote for Harris and Walz to get it implanted into law. My wife for instance took off 12 months paid leave for one of our children. The government paid her 67% of her regular salary each month.
It’s called “parents money” in Germany.

Trump said he wanted to repeal and replace the ACA with a better plan. His plan. Yet, he's never shown us this plan. It's almost as if....he has no plan.

There are those who are fighting to give ten year old kids free school lunches. And then there are those who are fighting to force ten year old kids to give birth.
The choice is yours, dear US citizens.

I lived in Sweden and live currently in Portugal- these policies that Mr Sanders advocates for are a part of every country’s system in Europe! I have access to free health care and can also pay for private insurance as a supplement for the public system- I pay €120/month for excellent coverage! My son’s tuition in Finland is free, he only pays for books, , , , I live in a social democracy, and I will never go back to the states- why??

Gun ownership is preserved for hunting and under strict control
here, so I don’t have to worry about mass shooting risk

Is this a radical concept or is this just common sense in order for a society to function?🤔

Americans should not be afraid to speak up like Bernie! 💙💙🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💪🏼

Canadian here. Our healthcare system isn’t perfect and definitely has its issues, especially right now as many Canadians face family doctor shortages and years long waits for surgery. But I thank my lucky stars every day that I’m here because I know of a medical emergency comes up for me or my loved ones that we don’t have to vote between treatment or horrible debt that we may never recover from. I myself had cancer and I owed nothing for my treatment. I was able to recover with peace of mind and security. Every American deserves that. The fact that anyone could consider that radical or wrong in some way is tragic.

So well said, Bernie! As a European, it seems unbelievable to me that an "advanced" country like the United States doesn't have a Healthcare Service that is accessible to everyone! (And, yes ... you ARE a national treasure, Sir!)

In our country, we have public health insurance, and we're proud of it for many reasons. We don't worry about changing jobs or taking early retirement because our healthcare is always covered. Seeing a doctor is easy—you can visit any hospital or clinic, confident that they'll accept our insurance. This is possible because we have a single, government-owned public health insurance system that everyone participates in. The cost of our insurance is income-based, so those with higher earnings contribute more, while those with lower incomes pay less. The rates are so affordable that everyone can manage, even if they lose their job.

I would love for Bernie Sanders to see most of his visions for a better America come to pass before we loose him. Thank you Bernie ❤

Here Australia, if I get diagnosed with cancer or suffer a heart attack! my care is free paid through my tax! It's not perfect! but the only expense would be the car parking at the Hospital! Instead of America, if you don't have health insurance, they will take everything you own to cover the cost! This is basic human rights where your country should be looking after the people in society who are not earning 6 figure salaries! I don't get it!

Seniors, disabled, and retired folks need a much higher min wage too. Current minimum benefits are far lower than minimum wage, and it's well established that that is not enough to survive on. Homelessness jumped 12% in a single year!
