I was ready for a struggle with my Caucasian Shepherd, and he ended up being one of the easiest dogs I've ever had.
There are gem lines out there that shatter the stereotype. Just don't assume that you have one lol

I’ve wanted a Rot since I was in high school (I’m 34 now… so a long time lol). I ended up with a Samoyed as my first dog due their tendency to be good with little kids, allergies in the family, and not wanting a tiny dog. I love him but I should’ve started with smaller 😅 but thank GOD I didn’t get a Rot. I’m not too proud to admit I’m nowhere near equipped to handle such a physically strong breed.

We used to live in a neighborhood with extremely small front yards, and there was a neighbor who would put their mixed breed livestock guardian out on a chain in the front yard. This dog was so reactive to strangers and other animals that while no one was going to trespass on their property, it was a terrifying risk that it would slip its lead and fatally wounding a child or pet. These breeds are not for people who don't know what they are doing.

For people who want dogs like this I advise a Great Pyrenees. They have much of the independence and stubbornness of the other livestock protection breeds but not usually as aggressive towards other people. Though they will be aggressive towards other dogs and animals that don't belong on your property.

Just saying if you can't properly train a Great Pyrenees. Then you have no business trying to train a Caucasian Shepard.

Our first Anatolian mix was a learning experience. My wife is a certified dog trainer and it took all of her skill and our patience to raise him. Def agree, LGDs are a challenge, but SUCH wonderful, intelligent dogs! Sweet and gentle with family too.

I have an albash-hound cross that is...a LOT. He came from a home where he was their first dog. At 8 months, he was WAY too much dog for them. 6 years later, and he's my angel baby of a beast. He's still the worst at listening I've ever had, though.
On the other hand, I'm never afraid to go for a run at midnight or later, and he's the best traveling companion dog I've ever owned or met.

Yes yes yes
Some people shouldn’t be privileged to own certain dog breeds

As a first time adult owner of dogs (I had dogs when I was a child) I have two retrievers and even they are a handful. I'm starting to understand what the issues with 'first time owners' really are

I married a red head girl so I don’t need a guard dog.

Putting one of these breeds in the hands of an inexperienced handler is akin to giving a hand grenade to a six year old. You just don't know when it's going to explode.

I would not trade our Rottweiler for anything. She is well mannered, well trained, polite, and very gentle with our family. She laid by my side for three days while I was home alone and basically unconscious from Covid.

This video should ideally be titled as as exotic breeds which are worst for first time owners.

Please talk about the regular guard dog breeds malinois, dobe, rott, Xl bully, corso, bull terrier, GSD and such which most people consider as guard dogs and family dogs and tell whats worst and best in them instead if you could please

Know someone with a full blood Kangal, they never owned one before, never heard of the breed before. Its about the human more than a specific breed of dog.

I have a Turkish Kangal, Raven. She is now 11 months old and she is my very first dog. Her obedience training is spot on and her recall is perfect when in known areas, when we're in an unknown area the recall is impossible

I believe it's more about the bond between the handler and the dog than it is about the dog.

Raven's mother is a livestock guardian and she was directly imported from Turkey 7 years ago where her lineage was livestock guarding as well

We live in South Africa

The American Akita should be first on the list. Very Indipendent; cat like in temperament and behavior; both animal and human aggressive and acts more like a wild dog or wolf than a domestic dog.
Worst possible choice for a first time dog owner. I know I’ve had one and never again. I will stick to pitbulls, dobermans and CBRs.

Not sure what "Turkish Kangaroos" are, but I'll take your word for it!

I’d rather train a Caucasian Shepherd than a husky😂😂

Im from Caucasus. I grew up around Caucasian Shepherds. And he is 120% right. Caucasian shepherd is very independent. Watch videos of they are kept. Caucasus is not western europe. People dont treat animals in the same way.

What is the dog that you less get for training? Of course considering popularity. For example, you won't get many clients with Pharaoh Hound because they're simply not a popular breed. So, my question is more on the proportional aspect.
