Mold is one of the things I was found to be allergic to when I got tested. Since all homes have mold, how much mold is too much for someone that's allergic?

very helpful info. I actually did a review on one of those Home Depot test kits. I always felt one of the best ways to know if you have mold in your house is to look for it. Check all areas of your home. Air samples will almost always show mold as its naturally in our environment but if you see it growing then you know you have an issue. Also ask yourself some questions, have i had a recent water event in the home, are you aware of any leaks. need that moisture source to even have mold. our eyes and nose are some of the best mold detecting tools. keep up the great content sir

This was an excellent video. I have a drop ceiling and a broken vent fan in my bathroom (I rent), as well as a slightly leaky toilet, plus, I can smell strong mold smells under my kitchen sink.
I can smell a general musty smell all over my house, lately (I also have a drop ceiling in my living room) and I’ve been finding spots on all different materials, in all rooms, but I’m too scared to look inside the drop ceiling. Do you have any recommendations?
I bought a dehumidifier, I keep all the windows open and I’ve been cleaning/throwing away everything I find covered in mold as those are the things I feel I have control over.
I’ve been looking into home tests but I feel so overwhelmed and honestly, I just want to move out but I’m unable to, at the moment.
At the least, thank you for helping people.

Just spend $2400+$300 disposable fee so basically $2700+tax for a Mold Removal in my basement by certified company. They took done walls in my basement disposed and cleaned everything. Just wanted to be safe. Really expensive though.

I heard you say all homes have mold. So that must mean there are “safe” amounts? Are these a list of theses we should do to prevent more mold.

Also whenever I turn on my AC there is a musty smell for about 90 seconds but then it goes away. Is this something I should be concerned about?

What about mold in my car?
I had some water leak in through the window crease/closure at the top - it wasn't closed enough. It has a better seal on it now though.

What difference does it make what kind of mold it is (other than the one kind of black mold). If you see it, smell it then you have mold and you want to get rid of it regardless of the kind. ServPro said there is no way to permanently get rid of mold, at least in hot, humid Georgia, in a crawl space. You can treat after cleaning but there are no guarantees it won't come back even if the original source of moisture is eliminated. The spores are everywhere; when conditions are right, they will grow again.

The video was great: I’m convinced there’s mold in this 20-year-old Atlanta-area house, but I don’t own it. I rent a room from a friend, and I’ve always noticed a musty smell particularly in the southern-facing rooms of the house, including my room. How much would you charge to call him and tell him that, among other things, WE DON’T NEED TO RUN A HUMIDIFIER IN JULY?

Just rented a 115 year old home roughly 6 months ago . I can smell mildew under the cabinets, some more then others . Only problem is I can't see any mold - wet spots nothing . The house looks to be remodeled, cause the cabinets don't look to be all that old. My allergies haven't been bothering me, not sure if I should be worried ..

How are your kits better than the Home Depot mold test kits? About $50 testing with Home Depot ($8 kit $40 lab $2 mailing) versus $80 testing with you? What am I missing that explains why your kits are maybe $30 more?
