Hello Everyone! Welcome to my channel! Today, I'm thrilled to be sharing my Santorini Travel Guide 2022! David and I had an amazing week vacation in Santorini and I'm so happy we vlogged during our trip to Greece. We had a once in a lifetime vacation and I'm so thankful for the opportunity to travel again.

Getting There:

It takes about 24 hours to arrive round trip. We got an overnight flight (which I would recommend) and I took a sleeping pill on the plane so I could actually be rested for when we arrived. When you get to Athens, you have to grab your all of your checked luggage and then check it back in. My recommendation is to plan three hours in-between layovers to get through security, grab checked bags, etc.

There is terrible turbulence. Santorini is known for being very windy and you’ll feel it on the plane!

Where we stayed:

Simple Sophie (Apeiron Blue Santorini) – Ample parking and close to Fira. It was really easy to drive around from this location.

Sophia Luxury Suites – The parking situation over there was horrible. We planned on only keeping our car one day that we were there to finish our exploring and shopping. You can really walk anywhere from there. It was really nice and felt secluded. While we were there we just relaxed and walked around to get lunch and dinner. The sunset is beautiful right from the hotel. You don’t need to go anywhere special to watch it.

Clothing/Weather:

It was a solid 60-65 degrees while we were there. It was sunny every day. I mostly wore maxi dresses and sandals. One day it was super windy and I needed a jean jacket. I would say that it is a hot 65 degrees and felt warmer to me than that. Wear sunscreen and put sunscreen on your hair part. I would bring a sun hat and a ball cap for walking around. Once the sun goes down, the temperature drops significantly. You will want a warmer jacket for nights and while you’re eating at restaurants. Almost all of the restaurants are outside so you will get chilly.

Things To Do:

Akrotiri Archaeological Site – need a couple of hours here really interesting (masks required). Go in the morning they have weird hours.

Santorini Brewing Company (30 minutes to an hour here, it’s very small. It’s also a good stop after you visit the archeological site)

Perissa Black Sand Beach – we spent the afternoon here.

Visit Pyrgos (need about an hour – beautiful buildings and walking). Head to the Monastery of Profitis Ilias during your Pyrgos visit. It’s on the other end of the island where you’ll see the whole island. The Monastery itself is supposedly beautiful and pink. It was closed while we were there but you can still see the entire island and is a beautiful view.

Megalochori is a very small town that’s perfect to explore for an hour.

OIA – this was our favorite area. There is so much shopping and sightseeing here. We went up there three times at various times. Oia is the famous sunset spot and I’ll share my little tip below.

Kastro Oia Houses it’s located only a few minute walk from Oia Castle, It's known as one of the most well-known photo spots in Santorini. We went there during sunset time. Walk past the houses and keep going down until you reach the wall. This is the perfect spot to watch the sunset. There was one other couple there with us and it was the perfect spot.

Fira
We didn’t love this area. It’s very touristy and crowded. You should still plan a few hour visit and to walk around while you’re there. There’s many stores and restaurants in that area.

Imerovigli – even if you don’t stay in the area, I would recommend walking around and watching the sunset at Five Senses and get dessert from Confetti Bakery.

Hike Skaros Rock
