I am a former wilderness guide from Northwest Montana. I am retired now and miss my wonderful times in the wild watching a fire slowly burn down. I have seen many Bushcraft videos. I don’t often comment, but I really enjoyed watching your video. Thank you for the memories.

It will do in a pinch, but good thing there was no wind or your tarp would have probably blown away. You may want to anchor that more sturdy. Still fun to watch!👍

I like this guy — not afraid to use tech like his little stove, uses gloves when appropriate to protect hands, knows how important it is to rehydrate even in cool wet weather when it’s easy to ignore, understands why oil rich birchbark can be peeled for great fire tinder, and stays dry. No romanticism just practical survival. I note no bugs in cool temperate zone rainforest. For that matter, he’s dressed right where it is apparently easy to get chilled and disoriented. Good luck with softwood which burns down fast but I don’t see fallen hardwood. Where is this?

I would get a long branch and use it for a support beam to my makeshift tent. Place it on that “Y” branch after you dig it into the grounds. I carry tacks to secure the tarp to the 2 logs.

Incredible work on building that shelter! It's amazing to see how you can create such a sturdy and functional refuge using natural materials. Escaping from the rain and wind in such a remote location truly shows your survival skills. Inspiring and educational!❤

You should invest in more camouflage. The enemy can see you a mile away with those street colors and the white shower curtain

Place your wet cloths over the entrance of your shelter more heat there to dry them.
