Thanks for all the info! I didn’t know the science behind whey protein. Also the breakdown of the label info / what to look for was helpful! 😊

Legion sounds good! It’s not easily accessible where I live though so I just have to find alternative options but I’d definitely be curious to try it out if they expanded to other countries.

Hey Doc lyss good video! How’s it going? I had a question about zone 2 and 3 training for running, I live in the myrtle beach area sc. aka humidity paradise where even in evenings it can be 80 percent humidity and 95 percent humidity in morning. I ran my 16 mile long run the other day outside woke up a little to late started it 10 am but it was 69 degrees 85 percent humidity and even at easier pace I noticed my heart rate got tougher tougher by last 3 miles and I landed in mostly zone 4 for run and some zone 3. Do u recommend I use gym treadmill for most my long runs this time of year? I feel like I can stay in zone 2-3 for hours hours on treadmill and recover better during summer. Or should I just try get out door by 5-6 am should I also use a hydration vest with electrolytes? Running in south east can be very frustrating as high humidity even makes an easier run a tempo run.

I appreciate all the info in this video. I do buy and use Legion but I find almost all protein powders (incl. Legion) to be too sweet. You can add sweetener if needed but you can’t take it away once there. I wish they would cut down the sweetener by at least 1/4. I do like their commitment to quality and transparency.

I don't think I realized it really made a difference between getting your protein from whole foods as opposed to supplements (although thinking about it further it does make sense that they should be "supplemental" :) )! I would say at this point a solid 1/3 of my protein intake comes from drinks/shakes - is that bad? Thanks!

Wish they made this without the xanthan gum.

I’d argue that “natural flavors” requires guessing. I have yet to find a protein that doesn’t have this in their list of ingredients but when you make a point that they, unlike a lot of other companies, are fully transparent with their ingredients, it’s just not completely accurate

I’m glad to learn the protein mixes well with water!

I did not know that there are supposedly a best or most nutritious type of cow out there or that they are located at a specific place. Learn something new every day 😂
