ULTIMATE Protein Powder Tier List: 22 Brands Tested

Показать описание
Over the past couple of years, I’ve tried and reviewed 22 different protein brands, ranking them on customer service experience (ease of ordering and return policies), cost, company reputation, availability, taste, mixability, and ingredient quality. While I have detailed articles on each protein powder, I have yet to create an ultimate tiered ranking list. That’s what this video aims to accomplish.

These are affiliate links. Feel free to use them or not. There's no extra cost to you. It simply helps me purchase more products to review for the channel.

Also, it's important to mention, an affiliate link is NOT a sponsored link. I paid for this product 100% with my own money and reviewed it independently. I have never received any financial compensation from manufacturers for reviews. Companies never know that I'm reviewing their products before a video gets published.

It makes no difference to me whether I love or hate the product, I simply tell you my candid opinion.

So while I can receive commissions for referring sales to products, if you end up being disappointed with my recommendation and don’t come back to the channel, I lose my audience trust. This is why I always set a very high standard for my review process, and constantly strive to provide the best, most honest, and most helpful information.

Nice review but to take it a step further, get it lab tested and see how accurate the protein content are. Start exposing these products!

I’m so glad someone finally made a video like this! I hate buying stuff when I don’t know what it’s like, and this really helps the decision making process!
I had two things I wanted to mention -

1. Premier Protein has protein powders you can mix into a shake; not just the RTD containers. Their vanilla has been a staple of mine for over a year now. It’s super cheap (I think) and I personally really like the flavor

2. And speaking of flavor, I’ve heard horrific things about the MyProtein flavors SPECIFICALLY in the states. Anything from it just tastes bad to it used to be really good but now tastes like chemicals - it’s made it really hard to want to commit to it. Just figured I’d put that out there

But thank you again for making this video!

Dymatize is expensive, unless you find the periodic Amazon price of $66 for 70+ servings. This price has really worked for me. 2.5 month supply, and it goes on sale for $66 more often than that.

I think a more useful measure would be cost per gram of protein. Serving size and number varies so widely that its not a fair comparison for high % and low % proteins.

I have tried many brands over the years, and Transparent Labs, PEScience, and Dymatize have always been my favorites

I feel vindicated! I've been using Gold Standard for years. Granted, I dont just throw my powder in a shaker, I add bananas, raw honey, raw oats, peanut butter and plain yogurt into mine and hit it with the blender, so flavor has never really been a problem for my shakes. The handful of times I've had GS by itself, I've found the rich chocolate flavor was delicious.

You should do a tier list like this with pre-work out there’s definitely lots of them

Its crazy how expensive Protein powder has come in the last 5-10 years unfortunately like everything else. I personally use ISO 100. I aim for 1-2 scoops a day. I've used O/N Whey dozens of if times in the past and even Isopure ready to drink coconut protein flavor which i love but its ridiculously expensive 🫰.

great overview - i usually skip around in these videos to get to the point, but i found everything you said to be valuable and watched all the way through. i would just recommend upgrading the mic setup since the audio was very peaky and harsh to listen to

I just buy nutricost unflavored isolate and add a tbsp of nesquik. 30g protein / 130 Cals / scoop, mixes great and super cheap. All this branding and flavor stuff is ridiculous

I ran ISOPURE for a couple years (because of the added micronutrients), then switched to Dymatize and fell in love sometime in 2020. They frequently go on sale on Amazon which makes it in my opinion the best when it comes to flavors, mixability and protein ratios. However, whenever I am on an aggressive cut I find myself doing 3-4 scoops of whey every day so the cost ends up destroying me if I run it longer than just a few months. On my most recent cut I switched over to COSTCO's Whey. It tastes okay, definitely not the best I have ever tried but the cost per scoop is insanely low. $47 for a massive 5.5lb bag so it's a no brainer cost-wise. My favorite flavor of all time was the ISO 100 Orange Dreamsicle. Holy smokes is it the most delicious protein I ever had. I loved mixing it with oats and berries as a quick pre workout snack. It will always have my heart.

ISOPURE for the win. It's worth the money. Should be on the top tiers.

Dymatize iso 100 S tier any day what an amazing protein!

Great list overall, but Dymatize Iso-100 should be higher, the only real knock against it is the price point. Used to find it at Sam's club for less than $1 per scoop, now even the 5lb tub is around $1.30. Though i will say the Fruity Pebbles flavor is worth every penny 🤤🤤

I do have a bit of a gripe with the consistency of the list though. Case in point: The Premier protein RTD's were "Rough Reps" mainly due to price point, yet Thorne was put in Protein Paradise despite the knock against it being price point and flavor profile. Curious as to the reasoning behind that.

Edit: Forgot to mention Pure Protein really should be at the bottom. I know the plus to it was that it's available at Walmart and such, but Optimum Nutrition and dymatize are also available at Walmart and for roughly the same price. Given that optimum nutrition and dymatize and other better brands are widely available, the availability of pure protein really is irrelevant. The Pure Protein bars though are S Tier as far as value goes, i eat those daily.

Sir you are absolutely amazing 👏🏽 ❤. You're the only person that broke down protein powder brands in an intellectual way and had great graphics to follow along. Best video I've seen thus far 🙌🏾💪🏾.

I would rank Dymatize higher.

71 scoops for $95 on vitamin shoppe $1.35 a scoop and Vitamin Shoppe normally runs 20% online quite often. Seems to be a great option!
