Sam is the shit. Best cooking show there is. Better for regular people to learn from than Jacques Pepin. Better than Julia Child, Bobby Flay, Emeril, Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver, anyone. This is why. He is the perfect blend of royalty and the common man. He is the perfect blend of Canadian and American. Possibly the greatest man to come out of the western hemisphere.

Brown the sausages then build your gravy in that pan, then finish the sausages in the gravy! Same as Wisconsin bratwurst

Laid back and easy to watch, not shouting in your face and great presentation in all that Sam cooks, liked how he did not show us how to make mashed potatoes, unlike some that show you how to peel a potato, real class.

I made this last week and craving it again. I had never see this video on it but basically did it the exact same way...only difference is I braised it in the same pan I browned them in, just dumped the liquid and added olive oil and butter. This time, I really want to bake some beer bread with it.

Really great and simple recipe with excellent instruction- thank you, Sam! I think the Jolly Roger brand of bangers is really a good choice too.

Made this tonight. DELICIOUS. We used garlic mashed potatoes and plated it like Makars in Scotland i.e. the bangers and gravy on top of the mash. We drank Taddy Porter from the UK with it. Delicious. The only thing about the video is we don't need to see you eating in slow motion nor see your face. Most of us just want to see the recipe and forego the "look at me" aspect of cooking.

I always fry the sausages first on a low to medium heat in the UK, then pour the onions and gravy over the mashed potatoes and sausages on the plate ...But whatever floats your boat, it’s going to be delicious.

My husband is English and he LOVED this dish. I didn’t use the Guinness in the gravy (as I forgot to buy it) but it turned out delicious with just the beef broth. 👍🏽

Think I'll tweak the gravy a bit. I'm gonna add a shot of Jameson to the onions while they're softening, and a couple tablespoons of tomato paste, some thyme, garlic, rosemary, and bay leaf.

Bangers and mash is a good comfort food. Quick and easy to make and very tasty if you make the onion gravy properly.

Omg this is a abomination to our British bangers and mash😭😭😭😭

Never ever ever boil bangers no no no.

Fry your bangers in some oil, rosemary & garlic and butter.

In a separate pan fry your red onions, add oil & butter, dash of sugar and salt, add lee Perins Worcester sauce & beef stock and simmer.

Then add chives, butter, salt, black pepper to mash and beat it with a dash of milk or olive oil.

That’s the posh way

My way, bisto gravy granules😂😂👌

Looks insanely delicious, I'm going to try this Guiness gravy the next time I make bangers and mash. I like my bangers and mash with a side of mushy peas...it adds a nice little English touch and goes well with the dish.

I just made bangers and mash and it came out okay, but I will try this recipe next time. It is closer to my German heritage. We like to cook everything with beer! 😂
