There might not be an app store on Pi OS but Snaps (Linux App Distribution) on all Linux distros are slow as hell.

Yes install the 64 bit Ubuntu on the Pi4 and then sudo apt install lubuntu-desktop You will find most performance problems go away. Anything Gnome related is a resource hog but install the Lubuntu desktop and things seriously improve on the Pi4. Don’t forget Ubuntu will also have more updated software than Raspberry Pi OS which is based on oudated Debian packages.

Does Ubuntu be a server or justo Desktop?

Snaps being forced as a default for the browser package install is already a dealbreaker. That's the worst package to deal with if you're worried about resource friendliness. Also, way to sell out.

Last time I tried Ubuntu on RPi4 4gb (couple of months back) it would crash, even with simple tasks. Is it worth the upgrade??

IMPRESSIVE!!! It’s definitely a good OS for RPI the animation on it is still NOT GOOD so HOW can a disable the animations on it :-) I’ve tried gnome-tweaks and settings BUT they DID NOT HELPED AT ALL :-( (Still confusing)

Don't test 21.10 and then tell us it's 22.04 beta... deceptive
