I picked up about 20 years ago a scintillator exactly the same model and style at a junk shop for $10.
Was in much better condition than this, and had the original leather case with it and strap.
It also had the uranium disc with it that you used to calibrate the scintillate with and it was in perfect operating condition.
I sold it on eBay a week later with terrible pictures taken with a Webcam in three 20 x 200 resolution but 24 of them.
Sold it for $379. It’s my favorite ever ebay piece.
Mine didn’t have the dents and mine didn’t have any rust. It was a museum piece.
But this one brings back memories.

I sell objects to museums all the time. Rick's comment on "a museum ain't gonna give you no money for it" is ridiculous and false. In fact many museums have deep pockets and are willing to pay for rare items like that sun dial.
