Rule of thumb:
When it comes to contamination a flowing body of water is (usually) cleaner, because the shit doesnt collect there but gets flushed downstream.
However, you will never know if you are above/below the shit being flushed or dipping your cup right inside of it 😅

What must the life of a bacterium inside a fast flowing river even be like? You are like able to swim a few millimeters per second and turbulence just throws you around. You smash into things all the time. What do you effn _do?_ What do you try to accomplish there? Your life might be too short to live to see the slower parts of the river downstream.
