What is being missed here is that the 100k watch is a fantastic way for DJT to take contributions without record. As they are sold globally, one could funnel $1m to him easily by simply buying 10 of these. This latest move by Trump has far less to do with selling schlocky trinkets and much more about making contributions untraceable. It will be very interesting to see how many of these watches are sold into Russia.

You giving these watches way too much credit. As an owner of tourbillon watches, and watch making enthusiast, these watches are the worst fraudulent thing that I have seen in a long while. Similar to the 100K watch can be add for around 3K from China as reviewed by an expert online yesterday. In fact, I wouldn’t be shocked to see consumer laws being broken here. Let’s wait and see.

The logo on the watch is set in Myriad, an Apple system font. On the Trump Tower it’s Rockwell which has a lot of character and originates from the 30s. It had a revival in the 70s. The more recent ventures use Trajan, a typeface inspired by the Roman capitalis monumentalis found on ancient Roman buildings. On the cheaper watch the logo is the same as on his private plane, potentially Univers Bold Extended.
