In our latest F1 explainer, we're looking at downforce... what is it, why is it so important, and why is Mexico such an outlier for aerodynamic performance 👀

Mercedes content is next level, clean cut and so easy to understand. All the best for this weekend in Mexico!✨

Love how they explained this in simple way for fans like me to understand downforce better. Thank you team !! All the best for Mexico, Brazil & Abu Dhabi 💪💪

These videos are so interesting and everything is explained very clearly - please make more of these! ❤

You also got behind by sticking to the zero sidepod concept, hopefully you can make it work next year, or going even next level with it, as a Max fan I would like to see competition, so good luck next year, crossing fingers for a better championship

I feel like this reworked with vertical side pods W13 was designed and shaped more for straight line speed and also to not be hit too hard with side winds as it corners. Am sure Mercedes-AMG built structures that would compensate for some loss in downforce.
Great to see the car has slowly but surely greatly improved and could even beat Ferrari for 2nd in the constructors.

Also explore the possibility of leveraging generated by /from an inverted wing located within the airbox, trailing edge down.... Plus another non-inverted, trailing edge up, just behind the rear diffusers.

Gotta make these videos for the newcomers from DTS.

I suppose the challenge for next season is keeping the down force as is but reduce drag to increase straight line speed. This is a hard problem but not unsolvable.

Hey Mercedes f1 I am a huge fan of you guys from Pakistan, my favorite drivers are lewis and Seb . I Loved how much you guys have improved since the start of the season so hope we get the best results possible in the last races and I pray that lewis can get a win or wins the last 3 races, will be rooting for you guys from Pakistan. 🇵🇰❤️🏎️❤️🤩

How about diffusers explained video? And inlet funnel vs diffuser ratios which is more effective?

Explained quite articulately! Go Mercedes, keep chasing that 2022 first win. Regardless, I would love an Adu Dhabi win...

Going against Mr Newey....plenty tough.Better luck next season.

Let's just hope that we can win a race before this season is over, so that we can have some sort of a hope for next season, because this season has been kinda s**t so far frankly

I always have a good laugh when people are talking about those super complex F1 aerodynamics and how the smallest details can make a huge difference - and then you see drivers being absolutely competitive with bent or missing wing parts or damaged cars like Alonso's in Austin last weekend with damaged underfloor, a mirror breaking off, etc. 😂.

. . Ai lets hit a "couple" of targets and not just one . Put a vein system within the body . Have it taper exit 'outsiDe' the body . Like a tunnel leads to light . Allow your downforce data to assist with a speculative honing path for what the arch of the tunnel should be to naturally give back the handling characteristics you want in the turns . #2. Less weight through honing . Aqueducts are timeless .
#3. Quite some upgrades ago, my original thought was to find areas beneath the body of the car to scalpt ' golf ball ' like recesses to control downforce or lift depending on elliptical shapes . Just kept thinking frisbees .

Question. Do teams run simulations pre race for each track understanding what the best downforce model is to be used based on the turns and altitude and wind forecasts and decide on the most optimal configuration? And since breaking patterns differ from driver to drive does this have any effect on the simulations while having different configurations for individual drivers?

Please put the Monza wing on for mexico🙏 Just imagine that double Drs in first sector😍

i think it could be better with a downforce because needs better aero parts and minimum weight
