Not only did he pose enough of a threat (BY HIMSELF ) to the machine's initial attack, that they committed literally THOUSANDS of sentinals to deal with him, he was getting literally torn to shreds and never once took his hands off the triggers. What a fuckin mad lad.

Don't Forget, Mifune was still fighting, but with him were other 12 units *pissing as much metal as he did* and those are unsung heroes who held the machines till the ship arrived

the fact that the movie is 25 years old just makes me astonished all over again watching this scene even todays movies with improved cgi cant achieve this naturalism this movie accomplished

The crazy part is, you know that the two guys that ran out guarding the ammo runner knew they weren't coming back. At this point they were opening the doors very sparingly, but the captain was the last man standing in the gap and they were going to reload that ammo no matter what it took. This was an amazing scene! The kicker was the kid taking his machine and giving everybody the last bit of time they needed.

Captain Mifune is a badass in any universe. Whether it's Halo, Starship Troopers, or Warhammer 40k, he's holding it down. He is the grimdark.

Say what you want about the Matrix sequels, but the production value was off the charts. We're watching live action actors walk around in badass mech suits shooting miniguns, and the CGI holds up incredibly well. And it's not just green screen, it's all composited with physical sets, props, and miniatures that took weeks to create.

A person has the courage to face death in order to protect others.
That unyielding roar is still unforgettable.
