Yes and no. They’ve practised it for so long it becomes second nature. Sometimes it drops and you see the temper tantrums or rages but often they are remarkably in character.

My narc dropped his facade so abruptly I questioned my reality/sanity. (Which was completely the intent.) He wasn't gradual at all, l it was perfection, he was so lovely one moment and the next he was the epitome of evil. Suddenly his head spun around and he started projectile puking green stuff and then he was just sooo fantastically horrible to me then that you could tell he was relieved. Like loosening your belt after Thanksgiving dinner. The lovebomb was the best time of my life i thought.. Now I know it was all fake and honestly Nobody could be that perfect, except for somebody truly that evil. FACTS!

42 years. That was the time for my sister. Technically it was 40 years but I’m ok with 42 years as it took about 6 years for the rest of my family to realize what was going on.

I actually believe that a narcissistic person is so fake they use a combo of others personalities, and not theirs, unless it’s for yu to see they’re capable of treating others how yu’ve long yearned to be treated

They never get tired ! They live for the act of being an actress ! It's the game of a life time for them and have many separate acts going on at the same time ! It makes them so happy to be fake and think they getting away with it !

Mine can last about 18 months, maybe 10-12. Then it changes again.

Actually it's second nature because they are used to it. Think in terms of an abuser who doesn't want people knowing, right? When someone has a long term set of innate characteristics, and thinks that ( feels like) his or her ego is more important than anything, they do selfish things and to cover this lack of empathy and respect for people, they develop a general sense of how to cover it up, and they can better fit on with others. I mean, they do sometimes put on an act that may be a bit different than the usual, and in those cases, it can be more work. But generally, image management is innate. What happens is they devalue someone after a while. Then, they stop caring at all about the facade, because they don't feel the other person matters enough to bother impressing.

And for the time that they are inflicting injuries and damages to Humanity itself, they are devastating characters. But God is a just God and a merciful God and He does take care of his children. It all comes out in the end.

My mother exposed her and when her mask came off, it really came off and never really went back on. All that happened after that was the push pull became more intense.

I agree with some of the comments that the narcissist is a highly tuned bullshit manipulate monster ..and it depends on how old they are .the money and toys they have and if they are abusing any kind drugs and drinking a lot ..cause just like everyone else they are human and do make wrong choices and mistakes..but a real narcissist takes everything to a whole different level!Thanks !💥@
