You literally will not believe this calendar, it is without a doubt the best advent calendar I have ever opened. Everything inside is expensive and high quality from Montblanc to Faber Castell. Keith Haring is worth looking into. He was a very famous and significant artist. You'll recognise his work everywhere. He passed away due to complications with AIDS in the 90s.

as a fountain pen person I can say that for me (and probably most of fountain pen people) we value our pens so much and even care how we store them to keep from scratching, so the pouch is not as absurd for us, if we drop a pen you can hear our heart breaking xD

The combo of fountain pen and fountain pen ink with leuchtturm1917 notebook is perfect, cuz even tho the page is thin it doesn't bleed. this is a beautiful advent calendar, thank you for showing us ::D

I love that this comment section is full of stationery enthusiasts educating each other about luxury pens. It's so fascinating!

Girl!!! I’m not even 4 min in and I’m already laughing! I’m a fountain pen collector and your confusion and shock is hilarious! That’s a FANTASTIC pen and has many selling points to the cost, but you don’t know till you’re into them!

I'm not a luxury pen person either but I can't deny that calendar is really worth the money to people who are. Nice to see one that isn't ripping people off!

As a pen person, this had me drooling. Also to all the wonderful pen people in the comments, may your ink flow smoothly. 🎉🎉🎉

Great value that it seems to be, I would not call it an art box, it's fine stationary. I actually worked in a fine stationary store many years ago, so don't find the list prices for the items surprising.

Best fountain pen I ever used was a vintage one with a tungsten nib.

A artist not knowing keith haring is breaking my heart. Also, those caren d'ache pens are usually cheaper, it's just that it's a collab. While he's gone, his name and work is still widely used and comercialized *at his request*. Please look him and the foundation up, it's all very good stuff

If you're NOT a fountain pen person, you'd see this as overpriced stationary
.
The same way if you're not a watercolor person, you'd think sable brushes are overpriced brushes...
.
😂 It's only when you do something often enough will you notice the nuances, the engineering, the ease of use of your tools

Re: fountain pens

Mont Blanc - it's not a flower, it's a snowy mountain peak.

Ink converters can be loaded while screwed into the pen which helps with initial flow (only causes problems if you're swapping ink colours, though some still consider that a feature not a bug).

The acrylic Iguana pen would have been made by turning a blank on a lathe, same as a wooden pen.

The first pen looks like a cheap demonstrator (means you can see the ink from the outside), but most of the cost is in the nib for pens like that (notice how the listing focused on the metals).

The first ink is a shimmer ink, not sheen (that's something different), and it would be a little visible with standard medium size nib pens. Looks great with thicker calligraphy pens.

The Faber Castelle ink you're used to is probably art ink, not fountain pen ink and CANNOT be used in a fountain pen as the pigment particles can clog up the works.

Chloe, if you store those fountain pens with ink in them, remember to store them with the nib pointing up.

*THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST ADVENT CALENDAR I'VE SEEN!*

You can always do a competition and gift the pens as there's clearly a huge number of people, including myself, who greatly appreciate these types of pens.

Cult Pens really did sooo well with this advent calendar. I saw one which was cheaper and the stuff you get, although still good, is nothing compared to this one. Sooo many great gifts in this advent calendar! I hope they do it again although I doubt it 😂

If you want to start your ink collection journey, Diamine has an Inkvent calendar with a small ink bottle each day for 25 days. There's usually a lot of shimmer and sheen inks inside, can recommend if you enjoyed your ink bottles :)

This is one of my favorite comments section I’ve ever read through. So much new knowledge in a hobby I never really took interest in before. But I sure have developed an appreciation for it after seeing so much passion for it now!❤

The beauty of those refillable cartridges is that they save a lot of the environment. When you use that type of fountain pen that has the cartridges, you either have to refill them or buy single use ones. And since one cartridge doesn't hold much of the ink, you are buying them constantly. So when you can refill them, you also can do it at home.

I have just cheap fountain pens currently, but I was dropping my jaw when I went to look actual shop that had the high price fountain pens. The most expensive ones cost thousands, so the $500 pen is not even from the most expensive and when you see the ones with the top price it ends up looking even cheap lol.

And when you are leftie you have to search a little bit where the right angle is for you with using them. When it is wrong, it feels like it is scratching the paper. So there is small learning curve with those pens. Also fun fact, there is nibs that are done for us lefties. I have not bought one yet since I have been able to work my way with the right-handed nibs, but my goal is to get one of those at some point just to see if it feels any different.

And yeah... that is the first advent calendar ever that doesn't rip off people, but instead it delivers big time. First time also when I see an advent calendar that I would buy for sure if I would have funds to do so. That was amazing.

Everything you got from this advert Kalender is worth it. I got a Montblanc Set on my 18th birthday, 40 years ago, and they are still working. My husband has had a Meisterstück from Montblanc for 25 years. When you are lucky enough to get one of those, you have it for life.
