We took off the black paint and found gold underneath! *Immediately paints it black again*

“And guess what,
After spending another $5, 000 on repairs,
We sold it for $2, 000!”

Bought a 66 Mustang off my uncle about 2 years ago. Thing sat outside for 15 years, it was rusty, and an all around lawn ornament. I am proud to announce after purchasing and sinking stupid amounts of money into it, it is still not running and sitting in my garage in 30 pieces

A tip that I use.
Instead of taping a the sparkplug to a screw driver.
I stick the plug in a piece of hose. Like vacuum line. Works really well

Hopefully he didn’t give it to you thinking you’d keep it. My uncle sold my cousin a truck for cheap because he needed it for work. The next week he calls my uncle and told him “hey I sold that truck and made $1500”. My uncle called him an idiot and said he sold it to him because he thought he needed it. He knew he could get more out of it.

Figured out how he got it so cheap, he robbed someone for the bike and felt guilty so he left $200 dollars

If you have a $200 bike that runs and rides, you've already won.

In 2010 I bought a car('91 Delta 88 Oldsmobile) for $11.20. It was multiple colored, with a dragon on both front doors, a spiraling universe on the hood with flowers painted everywhere else. I was followed home nightly from work to the apartment by the local Fuzz. It drove me from Denver-->KC-->Denver-->KC (2 years) before its demise. Not bad for under 12 bucks.

That's the best $200 bike I've ever seen, that's likely why you got 2k on the long end!

Usually this is not the case I sold my broken bike for $300 and it needed a new engine. They guy wanted it either way at least

You lied about one thing, that bike is not fast. But you're absolutely right about it always being broken

Straight pipe, loud, fast and always broke.... that's my biography!

Picked up a Buick lesabre that was shifting hard, known and common issue. Lots of labor hours getting to the transmission but if you’ve ever done a front suspension, you can handle it.

180k miles, two owner grandma car, picked it up for $1000 cash and drove it home. Did spark plugs ($120), oil change ($50), transmission solenoids ($130), and cleaned it up. Interior still mint condition almost (that’s important).

Learn a skill, don’t just expect to get money by scamming people. $1000 is what the Buick WAS worth, I added value via my knowledge of mechanics and my 20 or so labor hours ($800)

Also, I took a financial risk buying an old, possibly unreliable car. Luckily it’s reliable and I’d feel good selling it to anyone, but I think I’ll keep it. 30mpg on the highway!

Could sell it for $3000 any day of the week tho.

Pro tip, get some fuel hose (about a foot of it to fit snug over the end of the spark plug. Then you can start it at about any angle.

I bought a 1977 Honda Goldwing for 200 as my first project, all it needed was a coil pack for 80 bucks. Did my first paint job too, and it wasn't a rattle can. All that is left is registration
