Don’t lend money to people. They can deal with their bank for this.

Text also counts if it’s explicitly spelled out as a loan and they acknowledge so (i.e. “Yes I’ll pay you back soon”)

My parents always taught me to always let someone borrow money (within reason), but be just as willing to make sure they pay you back.

In my house we have WWJJD, what would judge Judy do. ALWAYS have an agreement in writing, especially if you can’t afford them not paying it back

Or tell them they owe more and they will say no i only owe you this much then screen shot it and say "give me my money back

Had this happen to me two 3 years ago with an acquaintance of mine. He swindled $1000 from me and harassed me to the point I lost sleep! He got his karma! He even did the same thing to his gf too even though he paid her back. Even though I know she’s had it with the me now I’m glad she sided with me for the time she did. I know she sent me screenshots of what she told him which included her telling him that’s a really fucked up thing to do to someone and that shit brings bad karma to you. He did it to several other people too and she also called him out telling him why are you borrowing money from people when you don’t intend to or don’t have a conceivable way to pay it back and then she also included that he’s just collecting bad karma from doing that to people.

You don’t technically need a written agreement before small claims. But of course it does help you gain more leverage in terms of filing a case.

I have a question, so I let somebody borrow $2, 000 and we had a written agreement (I still have the letter) of how much etc.. and we both signed it, BUT this was over like 10 years ago and they still haven't payed me. Is there anything I can do about that ? Would a small claims court case work ?
