Whenever someone ask me how do I play penta scales, I just simply send this youtube link to them, this is by far the most straight forward tutorial ever. If you want o save time practicing scales just always think of the shape! Not every single note. Well done sir pax! 💯

Thank you for this Kuya Pax.

I could go on for hours on how much I love your videos and how you're sent from heaven but instead I will contain myself and list down all of the things that I learned as a beginner.

(To whoever is reading this I apologize in advance)

-Chapter "The Minor Pentatonic";
With the pentatonic shape, I can just look at a fretboard chart and choose a note in the 6th string to play a minor pentatonic shape. For example, the F#m Pentatonic Scale. I will just look for the F# note on the 6th string which is on the 2nd fret and then use that note as my tonic/ post/ starting point for the shape.

-Chapter "The Major Pentatonic";
It has the same shape as the minor pentatonic scale but instead of using the first note of the shape as the tonic/ post, we will use the second note of the shape. For example, to play a B major pentatonic scale, I have to find the B note in the 6th string which is on the 7th fret. But instead of starting at the 7th fret when playing the shape, I will make it so that the 7th fret or the B note is the second note that I will play. Which means that to start playing the scale, I have to start at the 4th fret.

-Chapter "Relative Major/Minor"
Since the major and minor pentatonic scale uses the same shape, they can be relative to each other. For example, B minor and D major pentatonic scales. To play the B minor pentatonic scale, we have to look for the B note at the 6th string which is on the 7th fret. Since it is a minor pentatonic, we will use the B note as our starting note when playing the shape. Relative to that, is the D major pentatonic. We know that to play a major pentatonic, we use the same shape as the minor pentatonic but we use the second note of the shape as our post. So to play the D major pentatonic, we have to make it so that D note in the 6th string is the second note that we play in the shape. The first note being a B note. This means that the B minor pentatonic scale and the D major pentatonic scale are the same.

-Chapter "Guide to using the scale"
I can only use this shape when my home base/ tonic/ post is at the 6th string or the 1st string. Other shapes are needed for the other strings.

-My own application of the lessons.
I looked up the key of Michael Jackson's Beat It and found out that it is in D#minor key. Since it is in minor, I can use the minor pentatonic shape. My first note in playing the shape will be the D# note on the 11th fret. With this shape, I was able to play the a riff without looking up tabs.
D# - F# - C# - A# - G# \ A# - G# - F#

I looked up the key of MGMT's Kids and found out that it is in A major key. Since it is in major, I can use the same shape as the minor pentatonic but make it so that the A note in the 6th string is the second note that I play in playing the shape. So that means in playing the shape, my first note will be an F# on the 6th string.
With this, I was able to play the guitar intro.

You're really good in all of your tutorials Pax. Very informative.. it's really easy to follow and understand as said by Mr. Delantar. Comparing other tutorials in YouTube is not a good thing but you are the best. You're the only one who made me understand guitar terminologies and jargons that I often find hard to absorb even I can here it every now and then. You even deliver all of them with humble conviction; very sure of what you are talking about without any trace of arrogance. Continue your passion while I watch and learn even if I've been playing since my early teens, I'm 55 now but I still have a lot to learn. Thank God for young guns like you
