List with 300+ Mammals, Birds, Reptiles, and Amphibians assessed as "Extinct" by IUCN. The number is undoubtedly higher because many species listed as Critically Endangered (and Possibly Extinct) have not been seen in the last decades.

– All credit to the artists and photographers who immortalized those animals through their work;

I did not add the Toolache Wallaby footage to the final version at the request of the Field Naturalist Society of South Australia to not release the material on Social Media yet!

As a bird lover, the amount of ones that have gone extinct is as horrifying as it is heartbreaking.

The sheer amount of Mauritius-native animals that went extinct is insane

I couldn’t imagine how beautiful the planet probably was 1000-2000 years ago with all these colorful birds and unique animals running around. we’ll never see them again

Island species are always the most vulnerable to extinction 😢

It's both amazing and incredibly sad that we humans have caused the extinction of so many bird species just for sheer vanity and fashion, food or because we viewed them as pests.

If this included insects, arachnids, fish, and mollusks it would've been waaay too long

The footage of the pyrennean ibex 25:20 was the first time that an animal became unextinct, the pyrennean ibex became extinct in the year 2000, but in 2003 researchers managed to clone a female ibex, but after a couple minutes the animal died due to lung defects.

It's crazy and sad how quickly a species can go extinct

I'm surprised how many of these extinct species are birds.

And can you imagine there were billions of passenger pigeons?

Gone, but not forgotten.
Thanks to this video.

My first reaction to this was, "Why would they think I'm gonna watch a 26 minutes video of just slideshow of extinct animals?", then it hit me.

I’m not a very emotional person but this video made me shed a tear. Perhaps it was the music combined with the artistic works.

So many animals have been lost to the hands of humanity. How marvelous would it be to see a Stellar’s sea cow, a dodo, or a sloth lemur in person? We can only hope that some have lived on to this day.

And the worst part is, it’s only getting worse. I pray for the future of our planet and home.

Videos like this are very important. One of my biggest fears is every remaining subspecies of my favourite animal, the tiger, dwindling in numbers even more or going extinct completely. Or any popular animal we have today for that matter. I can't imagine having kids who will never get to see something like a tiger.

Its pretty incredible to see how many animals there back in the days but also pretty sad of how many we lost.

The fact that most of these animals come from island habitats is a clear sign as to how invasive humans are.

Imagine how lonely it would feel being the last alive creature of your species. Sad.
