The reason Chinese river dolphins aren't 'officially' extinct is because the CCP doesn't want to deal with the embarrassment, especially given the dams they keep building on that habitat making it almost impossible any are still alive / able to breed.

Alas, humanity's greed and stupidity is to blame for the extinction of a lot of animals.

6:52 A neighbor of mine I found out I had some old pigeon coops from World War II. This guy was really old when I was a kid in the 90s. He still kept the pigeons and always said that they were not normal pigeons, that they were meant for sending messages and called them carrier, pigeons, or messenger. They definitely didn’t look like the regular pigeons you see in the city, nor did they look like doves.

I remember when I was in kindergarten I remember us learning about the Chinese river dolphin and how we had to save them. To think they are this close to extinction hurts.

Let’s all agree to learn from our past and be able to do better and be better than those that predate us.

On the Tombstone Thunderbird (pterodactyl), I think you mean inches, not feet. That bird, by no means, has a 160-foot wingspan.

Technically the rocky mountain locust isn't extinct. Only the swarms are. They become locusts through a metamorphic process caused by overcrowding of these critters. The tilling of farmland kills so many eggs and larvae that the numbers are never great enough to trigger locust metamorphosis and swarming. So, the rocky mountain locust is more dormant than extinct.
